Overview

The Canon TC-20M is a compact large-format printer designed for a range of users, from small businesses to home offices that require wide-format printing capabilities. Unboxing & Initial Setup

  1. Carefully remove the printer from its packaging and remove any protective materials and tapes.
  2. Place the printer on a flat, stable surface with sufficient space to handle large-format paper rolls or sheets.
  3. Open the ink compartment by lifting the cover on the printer.
  4. The TC-20M uses refillable ink tanks. Unpack the ink bottles (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) and carefully fill the corresponding tanks in the printer.
  5. Once the tanks are filled, close the ink compartment securely.
  6. Load roll paper.
  7. Plug the power cord into the printer and an electrical outlet. Turn on the printer using the power button.

Canon TC-20M setup on Windows

  • Download and Install Drivers:
    • Driver Downloads are available in the Bottom of the page.
    • Navigate to the “Drivers, Software & Firmware” section.
    • Select the appropriate driver for your Windows version and download it.
    • Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
  • Connect the Printer:
    • Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable or ensure both devices are on the same network for network printing.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Printer not connecting to wi-fi:
    • Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
    • Solutions:
      • Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
      • Place the printer close to the router
      • Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
      • Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
      • Restart the router and printer
      • Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
  2. Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
    • Solutions:
      • Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
      • Restart your printer and device
      • Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
      • For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
      • On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
  3. Paper Jam:
    • Solutions:
      • Turn off the printer
      • Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
      • Check for torn paper pieces
      • Restart the printer
  4. Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors):
    • Solution:
      • Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
      • Run Print Head Cleaning:
      • Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
      • Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
      • Ensure you’re using compatible paper
