Unboxing & Initial Setup

Step 1 of 5 Take printer out

Open the box fully and lift the printer upward with support from both sides.

  1. Take the printer out of the box.
  2. Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
  3. Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
  4. Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
  5. Install the toner cartridges.
  6. Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon G6020 setup on Windows

  1. Use the printer’s control panel to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
  2. Select Wireless Setup > choose your network > enter the password.
  3. Download drivers from the bottom of the page
  4. Open the downloaded file and follow on-screen instructions.
  5. During installation, choose Wireless Connection if using Wi-Fi.
  6. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  7. Click Add a printer or scanner and select Canon G6020.
  8. Windows will automatically install the correct driver if not already done.
  9. Open a document and choose File > Print, then select your G6020 printer.

Troubleshooting Steps

  • Check the power:
    • Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
  • Check the cartridges:
    • Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
  • Check paper:
    • If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
  • Check WiFi connection:
    • Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
    • Make sure that the WiFi connection is stable
  • Reset the printer:
    • Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
  • Update printer drivers:
    • If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
