Requirements & Prerequisite

Gather the following items before you begin setup. Tick each one as you get it.

Unboxing & Initial Setup

Step 1 of 5 Take printer out

Open the box fully and lift the printer upward with support from both sides.

  1. Take the printer out of the box.
  2. Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
  3. Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
  4. Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
  5. Install the toner cartridges.
  6. Load paper into the paper trays.

G6090 setup on Windows

  1. Turn on your G6090 and connect it to your Wi-Fi network using the control panel (Wireless LAN Setup > your network > enter password).
  2. On your Windows PC, open a browser and go to the Canon Support website.
  3. Search for G6090 and download the driver from the bottom of the page
  4. Run the downloaded file and follow the installation wizard instructions.
  5. Choose Wireless LAN Connection when prompted during setup.
  6. The software will search for the printer on your network and install the appropriate drivers.
  7. Once installed, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  8. Click Add a printer if it isn’t already listed; select the G6090.
  9. Open any file, choose Print, and select your printer to test it.
