Requirements & Prerequisite
Gather the following items before you begin setup. Tick each one as you get it.
Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Carefully unpack the printer from its box and remove all protective materials and tapes.
- Set the printer on a stable, flat surface with ample space for media handling and ventilation.
- Lift the ink compartment cover.
- Take the ink cartridges from their packaging and install them in the corresponding slots, ensuring they fit snugly.
- After all cartridges are installed, close the cover.
- Adjust the paper guides in the media tray to accommodate the media size. Insert the media, ensuring proper alignment.
- Connect the power cord to the printer and plug it into an electrical outlet.
- Press the power button to turn on the printer.

Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer not connecting to wifi:
- Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
- Solutions:
- a. Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
- b. Place the printer close to the router
- c. Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
- d. Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
- e. Restart the router and printer
- f. Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
- Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
- Solutions:
- a. Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
- b. Restart your printer and device
- c. Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
- d. For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
- e. On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
- Paper Jam:
- Solutions:
- a. Turn off the printer
- b. Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
- c. Check for torn paper pieces
