Requirements & Prerequisite

Gather the following items before you begin setup. Tick each one as you get it.

Unboxing & Initial Setup

Step 1 of 5 Take printer out

Open the box fully and lift the printer upward with support from both sides.

  1. Take the printer out of the box.
  2. Open the top cover and remove the belt stopper.
  3. Remove all the protective tape and close the cover.
  4. Plug in the power cord and turn on the printer.
  5. On the printer panel click on the roll load to enter the paper settings window.
  6. Click on the roll number you wish to load.
  7. Click load paper.
  8. Tap yes to confirm
  9. Open the top cover.
  10. Open the output guide to reveal the loading area.
  11. Drop the roll into the roll holder.
  12. Move the material backwards slowly until you hear a click, then move the material forward.
  13. Close the cover.

Canon PRO-4100 setup on Windows

Setting up Canon image PROGRAF PRO-4100 – Windows (Wi-fi):
Prepare the printer:
a. On touchscreen scroll down to LAN settings.
b. Select change LAN.
c. Click on activate wireless LAN.
d. You will be brought back to the main screen, scroll down and choose the LAN settings again.
e. Select wireless LAN setup.
f. Select standard setup.
g. Choose your wi-fi network name from the available list.
h. Enter the password.
Download the Drivers:
a. Download and install the driver from the bottom of the page.
b. Once the installation is completed, run the installed file.
Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
USB Setup (Wired Setup):
Download the Drivers:
a. Download and install the necessary drivers from the bottom of the page.
b. Once the driver installation is completed, run the installed file.
Connect the USB Cable to your printer:
a. Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your PC.
b. Go to the settings of your PC.
c. Search for blue tooth and devices.
d. Click on Printers and Scanners.
e. From the available printers list select your Canon image PROGRAF PRO-4100.
Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Printer not connecting to wi-fi:
  2. Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
  3. Solutions:
  4. a. Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
  5. b. Place the printer close to the router
  6. c. Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
  7. d. Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
  8. e. Restart the router and printer
  9. f. Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
  10. Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
  11. Solutions:
  12. a. Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
  13. b. Restart your printer and device
  14. c. Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
  15. d. For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
  16. e. On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
  17. Paper Jam:
  18. Solutions:
  19. a. Turn off the printer
  20. b. Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
  21. c. Check for torn paper pieces
  22. d. Restart the printer
  23. Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors)
  24. Solution:
  25. a. Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
  26. b. Run Print Head Cleaning:
  27. c. Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
  28. d. Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
  29. e. Ensure you’re using compatible paper
