WIFI Setup

1. Power on the Printer
   • To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
2. Download Drivers
   • Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page
   • When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the onscreen instructions.
3. Connect the Printer to wifi
   • Select wifi Connection
   • Enter the password
   • Press and hold the WiFi button on the printer until the WiFi lamp blinks
   • Connect Canon G3871 to your WiFi network
4. Print the Test page
   • Print a test page to confirm the setup

USB Setup (Wired Setup):

1. Turn the printer on
   • Plug into the power cord and press the power button to turn the printer on
2. Download Drivers
   • Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page
   • When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the onscreen instructions
3. Connect the Printer to Your PC
   • Connect USB cable when prompted
   • Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your PC
4. Print the Test page
   • Print a test page to confirm the setup

Wi-Fi/Wireless:

1. Power on the Printer
   • To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button
2. Connect the Printer to wifi
   • Select wifi Connection
   • Enter the password
   • Press and hold the WiFi button on the printer until the WiFi lamp blinks
   • Connect Canon G3871 to your WiFi network
3. Download Drivers
   • Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page
   • Select your macOS version from the dropdown eg, macOS Ventura, Monterey, etc
   • When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the onscreen instructions
4. Add Printer to Mac
   • Go to system settings Printers Scanners
   • Click “” to add a printer
   • The Mac will automatically detect the Canon G3871
   • Select it and click Add
5. Print the Test page
   • Print a test page to confirm the setup

Wired/USB Connection:

1. Power on the Printer
   • To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button
2. Download Drivers
   • Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page
   • When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the onscreen instructions
3. Connect the Printer to Your Mac
   • Connect USB cable when prompted
   • Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your Mac
4. Add Printer to Mac
   • Go to system settings Printers Scanners
   • Click “” to add a printer
   • The Mac will automatically detect the Canon G3871
   • Select it and click Add
5. Print the Test page
   • Print a test page to confirm the setup

You can also use AirPrint to print without downloading any app:

1. Open an image, email, or document.
2. Click on the share icon.
3. Select Print.
4. Select Canon G3871 from the printer list.
5. Click Print. 

iOS only support Wireless Connections

1. Turn the printer on
   • Plug into the power cord and press the power button to turn the printer on
2. Connect the Printer to wifi
   • Select wifi Connection
   • Enter the password
   • Press and hold the WiFi button on the printer until the WiFi lamp blinks
   • Connect Canon G3871 to your WiFi network
3. Install the Canon PRINT InkjetSELPHY App
   • Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad
   • Search for “Canon PRINT InkjetSELPHY”
   • Tap Download and install the app
4. Add Printer
   • Click on the “” icon usually at the top or bottom of the screen to add a printer
   • App will search for printers on your WiFi network
   • Your device will automatically detect Canon G3871
   • Select it and click Add
5. Print the Test page
   • Print a test page to confirm the setup

4. Connect Printer to WiFi Using App
   • In the Canon PRINT app, click “Add Printer”
   • Select “Register Printer” “Connect via Wireless Router”
   • App will automatically detect your printer
   • Choose your WiFi network and enter the password to connect
5. Print the Test page
   • Print a test page to confirm the setup

Wireless/Wi-fi:

1. Power on the Printer
   • To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button
2. Connect the Printer to wifi
   • Select wifi Connection
   • Enter the password
   • Press and hold the WiFi button on the printer until the WiFi lamp blinks
   • Connect Canon G3871 to your WiFi network

   • Click the Settings icon
   • In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom
   • Click Printing and then Printers
   • Click the Add printer option to connect the Printer
   • Your Canon G3871 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same WiFi
   • Click Add
4. Print the Test page
   • Print a test page to confirm the setup

Wired/USB:

1. Power on the Printer
   • To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button
2. Connect the Printer to Your Chromebook
   • Connect USB cable when prompted
   • Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your Chromebook
3. Add Printer
   • Click the Settings icon
   • In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom
   • Click Printing and then Printers
   • Click the Add printer option to connect the Printer
   • Your Canon G3871 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same WiFi
   • Click Add
4. Print the Test page
   • Print a test page to confirm the setup
