Troubleshooting Steps
Issue: Printer won't connect to Wi-Fi
- Confirm the printer and your device are on the same 2.4GHz network, since some MAXIFY models don't support 5GHz
- Move the printer closer to the router or reduce obstructions between them
- Re-run the wireless setup from the printer's control panel, or use the WPS button on your router
Issue: Printer shows as offline
- Check the printer is powered on and still connected to your network
- Remove and re-add the printer in your operating system's printer settings
- Restart both the printer and the router if the connection keeps dropping
Issue: Print quality is faded, streaky, or has missing lines
- Run the printhead cleaning utility from the printer's menu or the Canon software
- Check ink levels and replace any tank that's running low
- Run the printhead alignment if text or lines look misaligned rather than faded
Issue: Paper jams or misfeeds from the cassette
- Fan the paper stack before loading it, and don't overfill past the maximum line
- Confirm the paper guides match the loaded paper size
- Turn the printer off before removing jammed paper, and pull it out slowly in the feed direction
Issue: Documents jam or skew in the document feeder
- Remove staples and paper clips before loading the ADF
