There's no Wi-Fi in the scanner, so wireless here means sharing it from a host PC.

1. Plug the CanoScan Series into the computer that will host it and install the driver first, using the wired steps below
2. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click the scanner and choose Scanner properties
3. Turn on sharing under the sharing tab so other machines on the network can reach it
4. On the second computer, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, choose Add device and pick the shared scanner
5. Open IJ Scan Utility on that second computer and run a test scan

1. Download the CanoScan Series driver and IJ Scan Utility from Canon's support page
2. Run the installer and follow the prompts
3. Connect the scanner with the USB cable when the installer asks for it
4. Give Windows a moment to finish recognising the hardware

1. Set the scanner up over USB on the host Mac first, using the wired steps below
2. Open System Settings > General > Sharing and switch on Printer Sharing, which covers connected scanners too
3. On the second Mac, open System Settings > Printers & Scanners, click Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax and pick the shared scanner
   1. Run a test scan in Image Capture or IJ Scan Utility Lite

1. Download the Mac driver from Canon's support page
2. Open the package and work through the installer
3. Connect the scanner with the USB cable
4. Approve the driver in System Settings > Privacy & Security if macOS asks
   1. Open IJ Scan Utility Lite or Image Capture and run a test scan

Chrome OS can't join a shared scanner the way Windows and macOS can, and the scanner has no Wi-Fi of its own. Use the USB connection above, or scan from a Windows or Mac host and pick the file up from cloud storage.

1. Plug the CanoScan Series into the Chromebook with the USB cable
2. Open the Scan app from the Chrome OS launcher
3. Pick the CanoScan Series from the detected scanners
4. Set your resolution and file type, then hit Scan
5. Save the file wherever you want it, locally or in Google Drive

Network scanning on Linux means running saned, the SANE network daemon, on the machine the scanner is physically attached to, then reaching it from another machine through SANE's net backend. You'll be editing /etc/sane.d/saned.conf and /etc/sane.d/net.conf by hand, so it's a job for someone comfortable in config files.

1. Install SANE through your package manager, for example sudo apt install sane sane-utils
2. Connect the scanner with the USB cable
3. Run scanimage -L to check it's been detected
4. Open Simple Scan, XSane or another SANE-compatible app
5. Select the CanoScan Series as the source and scan something

The scanner can't talk to an iPhone or iPad. No wireless hardware, no direct connection. Scan on a Windows or Mac computer and move the file across with AirDrop, email or a cloud app.

Same story on Android. There's no way to connect the scanner to a phone or tablet directly, so scan on a computer and transfer the file over cloud storage, email or a cable.
