Troubleshooting Steps
- Prints show banding or streaking
- Run the printhead cleaning and alignment utility from the touchscreen or driver software. Check ink levels and replace any tank that's running low. Confirm the media type setting matches the paper or roll you loaded.
- Media jams or feeds in skewed
- Make sure the roll or sheet is loaded straight and seated correctly in the feeder. Clear any debris from the media path before reloading. If your model has auto media skew correction, use it.
- Printer keeps disconnecting from Wi-Fi
- Move the printer closer to the router, or clear away anything blocking the signal between them. If the connection keeps dropping, re-run the wireless setup from the touchscreen. For large or frequent print jobs, a wired Ethernet connection holds up better than Wi-Fi.
- Colors look inconsistent between prints
- Run the built-in color calibration from the touchscreen or Device Management Console. Confirm the driver has the correct ICC profile selected for your paper type. Let the printer reach a steady operating temperature before running color-critical jobs.
- Driver won't install, or the OS isn't recognized
- Check Canon's official imagePROGRAF support page for the exact OS versions your model supports - large-format drivers often lag behind the newest macOS or Windows releases. Download the driver for your specific model rather than a general imagePROGRAF package. Restart the computer after installation, before you connect the printer.
