Requirements & Prerequisite
Gather the following items before you begin setup. Tick each one as you get it.
Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Remove the tape and the protective material.
- Open the top cover and remove the tape from inside.
- Open the print head locking cover, peel the protective tape off the print head.
- Install the print head and close the print head locking cover.
- Press the joint button firmly until you hear the click.
- Remove the tank cap, open the ink tank cover.
- Grasp and remove the tank cap.
- Open the ink bottle cap and pour the ink.
- Close the ink tank and top cover.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Load paper.

Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer not connecting to wifi:
- Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
- Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
- Place the printer close to the router
- Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
- Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
- Restart the router and printer
- Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
- Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
- Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
- Restart your printer and device
- Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
- For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
- On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
- Paper Jam:
- Turn off the printer
- Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
- Check for torn paper pieces
- Restart the printer
- Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors)
- Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
- Run Print Head Cleaning:
- Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
- Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu Ensure you’re using compatible paper
