CanonimageFORMULA
imageFORMULA
The Canon imageFORMULA Series is a document scanner built for fast, high-volume digitizing in offices, legal firms, healthcare practices, and anywhere paperwork needs to become searchable digital files. Its automatic document feeder scans both sides of a page in one pass. It can handle receipts, business cards, passports, and long documents. Connectivity depends on the exact model: some imageFORMULA scanners connect over USB only, while others add Wi-Fi or Ethernet for cable-free scanning across an office. Check your model's spec sheet to confirm which connection types it supports before you follow the wireless steps below.

Troubleshooting Steps
- The scanner isn't detected by the computer
- Plug the USB cable directly into the computer rather than through a hub. Confirm you have the correct driver installed for your exact imageFORMULA model and OS version. Restart the computer after installing or reinstalling the driver.
- Frequent paper jams or double-feed errors
- Fan the paper stack before loading it to separate sheets that are stuck together. Clean the feed rollers - dust buildup is a common cause of misfeeds. If it keeps triggering on stapled or textured documents, adjust the double-feed detection sensitivity in CaptureOnTouch.
- Scanned images have streaks or lines
- Clean the scanning glass and rollers with the cleaning sheet or a soft, lint-free cloth. Run the calibration utility built into CaptureOnTouch. Check for debris caught in the document path.
- Wi-Fi model keeps disconnecting
- Move the scanner closer to the router, or clear away anything blocking the signal between them. If it keeps dropping, re-run the wireless setup from CaptureOnTouch. Confirm the scanner and computer are on the same network, not a guest or separate SSID.
- CaptureOnTouch won't launch or keeps crashing
- Reinstall the full driver package rather than just the software. Check Canon's official imageFORMULA support page to confirm your OS version is still supported. Close any other scanning or imaging software that might be conflicting with CaptureOnTouch.
