Unboxing & Initial Setup

Step 1 of 5 Take printer out

Open the box fully and lift the printer upward with support from both sides.

Carefully remove the iP8770 from its packaging, discarding any protective materials.
Open the front cover and install the ink cartridges into their respective slots, ensuring they click into place.
Adjust the paper guides in the rear tray and load the desired paper size.
Plug the power cord into an outlet and press the power button to turn on the printer.

Printer not connecting to wi-fi:
- Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
- Solutions:
  - Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
  - Place the printer close to the router
  - Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
  - Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
  - Restart the router and printer
  - Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
- Solutions:
  - Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
  - Restart your printer and device
  - Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
  - For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
  - On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
Paper Jam:
- Solutions:
  - Turn off the printer
  - Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer

This usually happens when the WiFi settings that you are trying to connect to are either wrong or the WiFi is not working. It can Also happen if the WiFi signal Strength is not good.
