The Canon WG7000 is a high-speed business inkjet printer built to take on laser workloads in busy offices. It uses a line print head that spans the page rather than moving back and forth, which is how it delivers laser-class speed with inkjet running costs. Depending on the model, it prints, copies, scans, and faxes, with high-capacity cassettes holding well over a thousand sheets so long runs don't stall for paper. It uses high-density pigment ink that's water and highlighter resistant, so printed documents survive being handled, filed, and marked up. The WG7000 is best suited for departments and offices printing heavy monthly volumes that want lower energy use and running costs than a comparable laser device.

Troubleshooting Steps
Issue: Printer shows as offline on the network
- Check the device's IP address on the touchscreen network settings screen
- Confirm the Ethernet cable is seated at both ends and the link light is active
- Ping the printer's IP from a computer on the same network to confirm it's reachable
- If the IP has changed, update the port settings in your driver or have IT assign a static IP
Issue: Print jobs sit in the queue and never print
- Check whether secure or held printing is enabled, which keeps jobs at the device until released
- Confirm your account has print permission if user authentication is turned on
- Clear the queue, restart the print spooler, and resend the job
Issue: Print quality is faded, banded, or has missing lines
- Run the print head cleaning utility from the touchscreen maintenance menu
- Run a nozzle check pattern to identify which colour is affected
- Check ink levels and replace any tank running low
- Confirm the paper type setting matches the media actually loaded in that cassette
Issue: "Maintenance cartridge full" message
- Replace the maintenance cartridge, which is user-replaceable on WG models
- Order the correct part number for your exact model rather than a generic equivalent
- Don't attempt to reuse a full cartridge, since it holds waste ink and can leak
Issue: Paper jams or misfeeds from a cassette
- Follow the on-screen jam clearing guidance, which shows the exact location for your model
- Confirm the paper guides match the loaded size and the cassette isn't overfilled
- Check that the paper weight is within range for that specific cassette, since thick stock is only supported in certain trays
Issue: Scan to email or network folder fails
- Confirm SMTP or SMB settings are correct in the Remote UI
- Check that network or email credentials haven't expired, a common cause of silent failures
- Verify the destination folder still exists and permissions haven't changed
Issue: Driver won't install or the printer isn't found
- Download the correct driver for your exact WG model from Canon's official support page, choosing UFR II, PCL6, or PostScript to match your environment
- Add the printer by IP address manually instead of relying on network discovery, which firewalls often block
- Confirm your operating system version is supported for that driver release
