Canon MegaTank GX7120 is a wireless all-in-one printer which is designed for homes, offices. It is a high page yield printer and can print up to 6,000 Black and white and 14,000 colored pages. Canon MegaTank GX7120 is a super affordable printer as it comes with a full set of ink, and a 3 year or 80,000 page.

Requirements & Prerequisite

Gather the following items before you begin setup. Tick each one as you get it.

Unboxing & Initial Setup

Step 1 of 5 Take printer out

Open the box fully and lift the printer upward with support from both sides.

  1. Take the printer out of the box.
  2. Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
  3. Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
  4. Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
  5. Install the toner cartridges.
  6. Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon GX7120 setup on Windows

Setup guide for Canon MegaTank GX7120 on Windows with Wifi:

  1. Power on the Printer:

                       a. To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.

  1. Download Drivers:

                      a. Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.

                      b. When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.

  1. Connect the Printer to wifi:

                        a. Select wifi Connection.

                        b. Enter the password.

                        c. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.

                        d. Connect Canon MegaTank GX7120 to your Wi-Fi network.

  1. Print the Test page:

          a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.

Setting up Canon MegaTank GX7120 on Windows with USB:

  1. Turn the printer on:

a. Plug into the power cord and press the power button to turn the printer on.

  1. Connect the Printer to Your PC:

                           a. Connect USB cable when prompted.

              b. Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your PC.

  1. Download Drivers:

              a. Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.

                          b. When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.

  1. Print the Test page:

              a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check the power:
  2. Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected.
  3. Check the cartridges:
  4. Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also, ensure that there is enough ink.
  5. Check paper:
  6. If the papers are not arranged correctly, take them out of the paper tray and straighten them up.
  7. Make sure that the paper tray is not jammed. You can now shut off the paper tray.
  8. Check Wi-Fi Connection:
  9. Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
  10. Make sure that the WIFI connection is stable.
  11. Update the Driver:
  12. Outdated drivers may cause problems.
  13. Check for the latest driver updates for your printer model.
  14. Download and install the updated driver.
