Canon imagePROGRAF TM-5250 is a large format printer that raises the standard for print excellence through greater business printing performance for creating photo images, posters and CAD drawings. It has limitless creativity through vivid, quality prints due to its improved ink capabilities. Canon imagePROGRAF TM-5250 comes with LUCIA TD ink combined with FINE print head to produce fine lines and rich texts when printing CAD line drawings and vibrant posters and graphics. Added with the new magenta ink, the overall print is enhanced with red colour development to highlight all important details.

Requirements & Prerequisite

Gather the following items before you begin setup. Tick each one as you get it.

Unboxing & Initial Setup

Step 1 of 5 Take printer out

Open the box fully and lift the printer upward with support from both sides.

  1. Take out the printer from the box.
  2. Remove the packaging material and protective tape.
  3. Plug in the power cable and turn the printer on.
  4. Select language, time zone, date & time.
  5. Select load paper on the control panel and load the paper roll.

Canon TM5250 setup on Windows

Setting up Canon imagePROGRAF TM-5250 – Windows (Wifi):

  1. Prepare the printer: 

a. Press the home button, on the touchscreen tap menu.

b. Select Preferences then choose Network.

c. Click on Wireless LAN settings and then Activate Wireless LAN.

d. Select SSID Settings or Standard Setup and then Select Access Point.

e. Choose your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) from the list and tap OK. 

f. Enter your Wi-Fi password and tap Apply. 

  1. Download the Drivers:

a. Download and install the driver from the bottom of the page.

b. Once the installation is completed, run the installed file.

  1. Print the Test page:

a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.

USB Setup (Wired Setup):

  1. Download the Drivers:

a. Download and install the necessary drivers from the bottom of the page.

b. Once the driver installation is completed, run the installed file.

  1. Connect the USB Cable to your printer:

a. Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your PC.

b. Go to the settings of your PC.

c. Search for bluetooth and devices.

d. Click on Printers and Scanners.

e. From the available printers list select your Canon imagePROGRAF TM-5250

  1. Print the Test page:

a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Printer not connecting to wifi:
  2. Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
  3. Solutions:
  4. a. Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
  5. b. Place the printer close to the router
  6. c. Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
  7. d. Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
  8. e. Restart the router and printer
  9. f. Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
  10. Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
  11. Solutions:
  12. a. Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
  13. b. Restart your printer and device
  14. c. Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
  15. d. For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
  16. e. On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
  17. Paper Jam:
  18. Solutions:
  19. a. Turn off the printer
  20. b. Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
  21. c. Check for torn paper pieces
  22. d. Restart the printer
  23. Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors)
  24. Solution:
  25. a. Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
  26. b. Run Print Head Cleaning:
  27. c. Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
  28. d. Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
  29. e. Ensure you’re using compatible paper
