Canon E3640 setup on Windows

Setting up Guide for Windows:

  1. Download and Install the Software
    • Download Drivers and Software
    • Click Setup > Enter E3640>Click Start
    • Select your Windows version (it usually detects automatically)
    • Download the Full Driver & Software Package
  2. Connecting the Printer to Wi-Fi
    • During software installation:
      • Choose Wireless LAN Connection
      • If the printer isn’t connected, press Home > Wi-Fi icon > LAN Settings >Wireless LAN Setup
      • Select your Wi-Fi network, enter the password
  3. Completing Installation on Windows
    • Run the downloaded setup file
    • Follow instructions for detecting the printer
    • Choose the connection method (Wi-Fi or USB)
    • Complete the driver installation
    • Print a test page to confirm setup

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Printer Not Turning On
    •  Check power cable connection
    •  Try a different power outlet
    •  Hold power button for 3 seconds
  2. Wi-Fi & Connectivity Issues
    • Printer Not Connecting to Wi-Fi
    • Run Easy Wireless Connect on printer:
    • Tap Setup >Wi-Fi Setup > Easy Wireless Connect > Yes
    • Ensure correct Wi-Fi password
    • Place printer near router
    • Restart router and printer
  3. Printer Disappears from Device List
    • Confirm printer and device are on same Wi-Fi
    • Restart both devices
    • Re-add printer manually if needed

 Mac Troubleshooting

  1. Printer Not Showing on Mac
    • System Settings > Printers & Scanners >Remove and re-add printer
    • Prefer Secure Air Print driver when adding
    • Reset printing system if persistent:
    • Right-click printer list > Reset Printing System

 Android/iOS Troubleshooting

  1.  Canon PRINT App Can’t Find Printer
  2.  Confirm printer is in Easy Wireless Connect mode
  3.  Both phone and printer must be on same Wi-Fi
  4.  Reboot devices
  5.  Reinstall Canon PRINT app if needed

Air Print Not Working on iPhone/iPad

  1. Confirm both devices are on same Wi-Fi
  2. Restart devices
  3. Re-add printer under Share → Print → Select Printer

Chromebook Troubleshooting

  1. Chromebook Can’t Detect Printer
  2. Go to Settings >Printers >Add Printer
  3. Enter printer’s IP manually (from printer’s Wi-Fi Info)
  4. Use IPP protocol and queue: ipp/print
  5. Restart Chromebook and printer

Printing & Scanning Issues

  1. Print Jobs Stuck or Not Printing
  2. Cancel all pending print jobs
  3. Power cycle printer
  4. Re-add printer to your system

Scanning Not Working

  1. For Mac/Windows: use IJ Scan Utility
  2. For Android/iOS: Use Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY
  3. Ensure scanner function is enabled in printer settings
