Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Unbox the Printer: Carefully remove the printer from its packaging, discarding any protective materials.
- Position the Printer: Place the printer on a stable surface with sufficient space for paper handling and easy access to controls.
- Open the Ink Tank Cover: Lift the cover to access the ink tanks.
- Fill the Ink Tanks: Using the provided ink bottles, fill each tank (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) carefully, avoiding overfilling.
- Close the Ink Tank Cover: Ensure the cover is securely closed after filling all tanks.
- Load Paper: Pull out the paper tray and adjust the guides to fit the size of the paper being used. Load the paper into the tray, ensuring proper alignment.
- Power On the Printer: Connect the power cord and press the power button to turn on the printer.

Canon GX4070 setup on Windows
- Download and Install Drivers:
- Driver Downloads are available in the Bottom of the page.
- Navigate to the “Drivers & Downloads” section.
- Select the appropriate driver for your Windows version and download it.
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- Connect the Printer:
- During installation, choose the connection method (USB or Network) as per your setup.
- For network connections, ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
Canon GX4070 setup on macOS
- Download and Install Drivers:
- Driver Downloads are available in the Bottom of the page.
- In the “Drivers & Downloads” section, select the driver compatible with your macOS version and download it.
- Open the downloaded file and follow the installation prompts.
- Add the Printer:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the “+” button to add a new printer.
- Select your Canon GX4070 from the list and click “Add”.
Canon GX4070 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Ensure your iOS device and the GX4070 printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the document or photo you wish to print.
- Tap the Share icon and select Print.
- Choose the Canon GX4070 printer and adjust settings as needed.
- Tap Print to start printing.
Canon GX4070 setup on Android
- Download and install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app from the Google Play Store.
- Ensure your Android device and the GX4070 printer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the app, select the document or image to print, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the printing process.
Canon GX4070 setup on Chromebook
- Ensure your Chromebook and the GX4070 printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Click the status area in the lower-right corner of the Chromebook screen.
- Click the Settings gear icon.
- Scroll down and click Advanced.
- Under the “Printing” section, click Printers.
- Click Add Printer.
- Your Chromebook should detect the Canon GX4070 printer. Select it and click Add.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer not connecting to wi-fi:
- Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
- Solutions:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
- Place the printer close to the router
- Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
- Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
- Restart the router and printer
- Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
- Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
- Solutions:
- Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
- Restart your printer and device
- Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
- For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
- On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver

- Turn off the printer
- Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
- Check for torn paper pieces
- Restart the printer

- Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
- Run Print Head Cleaning:
- Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
- Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
