Unboxing & Initial Setup

  1. Unbox the Printer: Carefully remove the printer from its packaging, discarding any protective materials.
  2. Position the Printer: Place the printer on a stable surface with sufficient space for paper handling and easy access to controls.
  3. Open the Ink Tank Cover: Lift the cover to access the ink tanks.
  4. Fill the Ink Tanks: Using the provided ink bottles, fill each tank (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) carefully, avoiding overfilling.
  5. Close the Ink Tank Cover: Ensure the cover is securely closed after filling all tanks.
  6. Load Paper: Pull out the paper tray and adjust the guides to fit the size of the paper being used. Load the paper into the tray, ensuring proper alignment.
  7. Power On the Printer: Connect the power cord and press the power button to turn on the printer.

Canon GX4070 setup on Windows

  • Download and Install Drivers:
    • Driver Downloads are available in the Bottom of the page.
    • Navigate to the “Drivers & Downloads” section.
    • Select the appropriate driver for your Windows version and download it.
    • Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
  • Connect the Printer:
    • During installation, choose the connection method (USB or Network) as per your setup.
    • For network connections, ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Printer not connecting to wi-fi:
    • Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
    • Solutions:
      • Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
      • Place the printer close to the router
      • Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
      • Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
      • Restart the router and printer
      • Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
  2. Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
    • Solutions:
      • Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
      • Restart your printer and device
      • Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
      • For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
      • On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
  3. Paper Jam:
    • Solutions:
      • Turn off the printer
      • Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
      • Check for torn paper pieces
      • Restart the printer
  4. Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors):
    • Solution:
      • Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
      • Run Print Head Cleaning:
      • Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
      • Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
      • Ensure you’re using compatible paper
