Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Paper jams: Open the maintenance and inner covers to access the jam. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove the paper, making sure to lift the release lever and not touch the linear scale or carriage shaft.
  2. Printing stops with an error: This can happen if the roll paper has run out, so replace the roll. It can also be caused by a previous paper jam, so remove any remaining paper from the top delivery tray. If the problem persists, try switching the output location from the top to the front.
  3. Unused paper remaining: If there is any unused paper, a message will appear requesting you to remove it.
  4. Print quality and alignment issues
  5. Misaligned borders or poor print quality:
  6. Ensure the media type selected in the printer driver matches the loaded paper type.
  7. Use the printer’s touch screen to execute “Nozzle Check” to diagnose print head issues.
  8. Adjust the print head position by first running “Print Head Alignment” (try Auto standard, then advanced, then manual if needed).
  9. After adjusting the position, try adjusting the Head height or Paper thickness in the printer’s settings, especially for photo or proof paper.
