Troubleshooting Steps
- Paper jams: Open the maintenance and inner covers to access the jam. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove the paper, making sure to lift the release lever and not touch the linear scale or carriage shaft.
- Printing stops with an error: This can happen if the roll paper has run out, so replace the roll. It can also be caused by a previous paper jam, so remove any remaining paper from the top delivery tray. If the problem persists, try switching the output location from the top to the front.
- Unused paper remaining: If there is any unused paper, a message will appear requesting you to remove it.
- Print quality and alignment issues
- Misaligned borders or poor print quality:
- Ensure the media type selected in the printer driver matches the loaded paper type.
- Use the printer’s touch screen to execute “Nozzle Check” to diagnose print head issues.
- Adjust the print head position by first running “Print Head Alignment” (try Auto standard, then advanced, then manual if needed).
- After adjusting the position, try adjusting the Head height or Paper thickness in the printer’s settings, especially for photo or proof paper.
