- Step 1: Unboxing and Placement
- Unbox the Printer: Carefully remove the printer from its packaging, ensuring that all protective materials are taken off.
- Position the Printer: Place the printer on a stable surface with adequate space for media handling and access to controls.
- Step 2: Installing Ink Cartridges
- Open the Ink Compartment: Lift the cover to access the ink tank area.
- Insert the Ink Cartridges: Install the 5-color ink cartridges into their respective slots, ensuring they click securely into place.
- Close the Ink Compartment: Once all cartridges are installed, close the compartment cover.
- Step 3: Loading Media
- Choose Media Type: Decide whether to use roll media or cut sheets.
- Loading Roll Media:
- Place the roll on the media holder.
- Feed the roll into the printer, ensuring it aligns correctly with the guides.
- Loading Cut Sheets:
- Insert the cut sheets into the media tray, adjusting the guides for proper alignment.
- Set Media Type and Size: Use the touchscreen display to select the appropriate media type and size for the print job.
- Step 4: Powering On and Connecting
- Power On the Printer: Connect the power cord and press the power button to turn on the printer.
- Connect to Network:
- For wired connections, plug in an Ethernet cable.
- For wireless setups, navigate to the Wi-Fi settings via the touchscreen to connect to your network.
- Step 5: Installing Drivers and Software
- Download Drivers: Visit Canon’s official website to download the latest drivers and software for the TZ-5300, compatible with your operating system.
- Install the Software: Run the downloaded installer and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
