Overview

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Carefully remove the printer from its packaging. Ensure all protective materials and tapes are removed from both the exterior and interior of the printer.
- Place the printer on a stable surface with adequate space for media handling and access to the printer controls.
- Lift the cover to access the ink tank area.
- Install the 5-color Lucia TD pigment ink cartridges (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, and Matte Black) into their designated slots, making sure each cartridge clicks securely into place.
- After all cartridges are installed, close the cover.
- Choose media type and load the media.
- Connect the power cord and press the power button to turn the printer on.

Canon TX-5240 setup on Windows
Setting up Guide for Windows:
- Download the software
- Navigate to the “Drivers & Downloads” or similar section.
- Select your operating system (Windows) and download the recommended setup file, which typically includes the driver and other software.
- Run the downloaded file to start the installation wizard.
- Connect to your network
- The setup guide will prompt you to connect the printer.
- For a wired (Ethernet) connection: Connect the printer to your router using an Ethernet cable.
- For a wireless (Wi-Fi) connection:
- Alternatively, if you can access the printer’s touchscreen, go to HOME > LAN settings > Wi-Fi > Settings > Wi-Fi setup > Easy wireless connect to connect the printer to the network first.
- Complete the setup
- To finish the setup process, this will guide you through any final steps, such as registering the printer and completing any initial print head or ink system.
Canon TX-5240 setup on macOS
Setting up Guide for Mac:
- Download the “Master Setup” file for Mac.
- Double-click the downloaded file to mount the disk image.
- Double-click the mounted disk image and then the “Master Setup” file to launch the setup program.
- Install the software and configure the connection settings for your printer.
- Manually adding the printer through System Settings
- Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner and select System Settings.
- In the sidebar, find and click on Printers & Scanners.
- Click the Add Printer,Scanner, or Fax.
- Click Add to add the printer. Your Mac should automatically install the necessary drivers. If the printer doesn’t appear.
Canon TX-5240 setup on Android
Setting up Guide for Android:
- Download and install the Canon PRINT app
- On your Android device, go to the Google Play Store.
- Search for and download the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app.
- Open the app once the installation is complete.
- Register your printer in the app
- Make sure your Android device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your printer.
- Open the Canon PRINT app and agree to the terms and conditions if prompted.
- Tap the Add Printer or search icon in the app.
- The app will search for printers on the network; it should find the TX-5240.
- Select your printer from the list to register it.
- Print from your Android device
- Open the document or image you want to print on your Android device.
Canon TX-5240 setup on Chromebook
Setting up Guide for Chromebook:
- Add the printer on your Chromebook
- Turn on and sign in to your Chromebook.
- Ensure your Chromebook is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
- Click the clock in the bottom-right corner of the screen and select Settings (the gear icon).
- In the Settings menu, go to Advanced.
- Scroll down to the “Printers and scanners” section and click Printers.
- Look for your TX-5240 in the list of “Other available printers.” When you find it, click Save.
- If your printer does not appear, you can add it manually:
- Add printer manually.
- Enter a name for your printer.
- Click Add.
- Print from your Chromebook
- Once your TX-5240 is saved, you can print from any application.
- Open the document you want to print.
- Press Ctrl + P to open the Print dialog.
- Adjust your print settings and click Print.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Power and supplies: Ensure the printer is on, has paper loaded correctly, and the ink tanks are properly installed and have sufficient ink.
- USB connection: If using a USB cable, disconnect it from both the printer and the computer, then reconnect it firmly. Try a different USB port on your computer or a different cable.
- Wireless connection: Check the network connection status on the printer’s control panel. Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer. You can print a network configuration page to confirm the status.
