Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Remove the Canon TS8820 from its packaging and ensure all protective materials are taken off.
- Open the front cover and insert the ink cartridges into their respective slots until they click into place securely.
- Adjust the paper guides in the rear paper tray and load the appropriate paper size (e.g., A4, letter, or photo paper).
- Plug the printer into a power outlet and press the power button to turn it on.

Canon TS8820 setup on Windows
Setting up Canon TS8820 – Windows (wi-fi):
- Prepare the printer:
- Make sure your wireless router is turned on and properly set up.
- Press and hold the wireless icon on the printer screen for about three seconds.
- Your printer is ready.
- Download the Drivers:
- Download and install the driver from the bottom of the page.
- Once the installation is completed, run the installed file.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
USB Setup (Wired Setup):
- Download the Drivers:
- Download and install the necessary drivers from the bottom of the page.
- Once the driver installation is completed, run the installed file.
- Connect the USB Cable to your printer:
- Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your PC.
- Go to the settings of your PC.
- Search for bluetooth and devices.
- Click on Printers and Scanners.
- From the available printers list select your Canon TS8820.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.

Setting up Canon TS8820 – Mac (Wi-fi):
- Prepare the printer:
- Make sure your wireless router is turned on and properly set up.

USB Setup (Wired Setup):
- Download Drivers:
- Download the driver package from the bottom of the page.
- Once the installation is completed , run the file.
- Connect the USB Cable to your printer:
- Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your Mac.
- On your Mac click on the system preference option.
- Now click on Printer and Scanners.
- The available printers list will appear on the screen, select your Canon TS8820.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon TS8820 setup on iPhone & iPad
Setting up Canon TS8820 – IOS:
- Connect to the Wifi:
- Turn on your Canon TS8820.
- Make sure your Iphone/Ipad is connected to the secure internet connection.
- Ensure that your printer and device are on the same network.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Go to the app store.
- Search for the “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App”.
- Download and install the app.
- Add printer:
- Go to the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app.
- Now follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer.
- App will search for the available printers, Select your Canon TS8820 from the available list.
- Click on Add printer.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon TS8820 setup on Android
Setting up Canon TS8820 – Android:
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Download the app from the play store.
- Add the printer on the app:
- Click on the add icon on the phone.
- Now click on the register printer.
- Select your Canon TS8820.
- Now the printer is installed on your phone.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon TS8820 setup on Chromebook
Setting up Canon TS8820 – Chrome OS (Wi-fi) :
- Connect the printer to Wifi connection:
- Choose your wifi connection from the available networks.
- Enter the password.
- Wait until the printer displays connected.
- Add Printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then Printers.
- Your Canon TS8820 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
USB Setup (Wired Setup):
- Connect the printer to USB Cable:
- Plug the USB Cable into the printer and the other end to your Chromebook.
- Add printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then printers.
- Click on the Add Printer option.
- Your Canon TS8820 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Troubleshooting Steps
- The Machine Cannot Be Powered On:
- Press the ON button.
- Make sure that the power plug is securely plugged into the power cord connector of the machine, then turn it back on.
- Make sure that the USB cable is securely plugged in.
- Unplug the machine from the power supply, then plug the machine back in and turn the machine back on after leaving it for at least 2 minutes.
- If you are printing from the computer and there are unnecessary print jobs, delete them.
- Make sure of the following when you load paper:
- When loading two or more sheets of paper, align the edges of the sheets before loading.
- Make sure that the paper stack does not exceed the paper load limit.
- Always load the paper in portrait orientation, regardless of the printing orientation.
- Load the paper with the print side facing up.
- Check to see if the paper you are printing on is not too thick or curled.
- Confirm that the media type and the paper size settings correspond with the loaded paper.
- Make sure that there are not any foreign objects in the rear tray.
- Check Cartridges:
- When a FINE cartridge runs out of ink, replace it with a new one.
- Is the FINE cartridge installed properly?
- If the FINE cartridge is not installed securely, ink may not be ejected correctly.
- Retract the output tray extension and the paper output tray, open the cover, then remove the FINE cartridges, Then install the FINE cartridges again. Push the FINE cartridge until it clicks into place.
- Perform the Print Head Deep Cleaning.
- Paper Jams:
- When paper is jammed, the Alarm lamp flashes and a troubleshooting message is displayed on the computer screen automatically.
- Take the papers out and arrange them in a proper way.
