Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Unbox the printer.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Install ink cartridges and load paper.
- Turn on the printer and ensure the Wi-Fi light is blinking or ready.

Canon TS5501 setup on Windows
Setting it up for Windows
- On the printer screen, navigate to Settings > Wi-Fi Setup > Easy Wireless Connect, then confirm when prompted.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page.
- Run the downloaded setup file and select “Wireless Connection” when prompted.
- The software will detect the printer and connect it to your Wi-Fi network automatically.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password during the process if requested.
- Wait for the setup to complete and print a test page if prompted.
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers to confirm the TS5501 is listed.
- Set it as your default printer if desired.
- Print a test page to ensure smooth operation.
Canon TS5501 setup on macOS
Setting it up for Mac:
- On the printer screen, go to Settings > Wi-Fi Setup > Easy Wireless Connect, and confirm when prompted.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and launch the Setup Assistant.
- Choose “Wireless Connection” when prompted.
- The software will detect the printer and guide you through connecting it to your Wi-Fi network.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password when requested.
- After setup, open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click “+” to add a new printer if it doesn’t appear automatically.
- Select Canon TS5501 from the list and click Add.
- Print a test page to confirm setup is complete.
Canon TS5501 setup on iPhone & iPad
Setting it up on iOS
- On the printer, go to Settings > Wi-Fi Setup > Easy Wireless Connect, and confirm to start the connection mode.
- On your iPhone or iPad, go to the App Store and download the Canon Print app.
- Open the app and accept all necessary permissions.
- Tap Add Printer > Register Printer > Connect via Wireless Router.
- The app will search for printers on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Select Canon TS5501 when it appears.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password if prompted to complete the connection.
- Once connected, the printer will appear on the app’s home screen.
- You can now print photos, PDFs, or scan directly from your iOS device.
- Alternatively, use AirPrint to print without the app by selecting the printer from the share menu in any app.

Setting it up on Android
- On the printer, go to Settings > Wi-Fi Setup > Easy Wireless Connect, then confirm to begin pairing.
- On your Android device, open the Google Play Store and install the Canon Print app.
- Open the app and accept permissions when prompted.
- Tap Add Printer > Register Printer > Connect via Wireless Router.
- The app will search for printers on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Select your Canon TS5501 from the list.
- If prompted, enter your Wi-Fi password to complete the setup.
- Once connected, the printer will appear in the app’s home screen.
- You can now print photos, documents, or scan directly from your Android device.
Canon TS5501 setup on Chromebook
Setting it up for Chromebook
- On the printer, go to Settings > Wi-Fi Setup > Easy Wireless Connect, and follow prompts to join your Wi-Fi network.
- On your Chromebook, click the clock in the bottom-right corner and select the Settings gear icon.
- Scroll down and click Advanced to expand more options.
- Under Printing, select Printers.
- Your Chromebook should automatically detect the Canon TS5501 on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Click the detected printer, then click Add.
- ChromeOS will auto-configure the printer or prompt you to select a manufacturer and model.
- Choose Canon and the closest matching driver (e.g., “Canon PIXMA TS5500 Series”) if needed.
- Once added, print a test page using Ctrl + P from any document or webpage.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check WiFi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the WiFi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers:
- If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
