Unboxing & Initial Setup

  1. Take the printer out of the box.
  2. Remove packaging materials
  3. Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
  4. Plug in the printer, and turn it on.
  5. Open the front panel and install the cartridges.
  6. Load preferred paper into the tray.

Canon TS5040 setup on Windows

  1. On the printer’s screen, follow the setup wizard to choose language, region, and connect to your Wi-Fi using Easy Wireless Connect or manual input.
  2. On your Windows computer, download software and drivers from the bottom of the page.
  3. Run the installer and follow the on-screen prompts to begin setup.
  4. Select your preferred connection method (Wi-Fi or USB), and allow the software to detect the printer.
  5. Once connected, the installation will complete and the printer will be added to your devices.
  6. Optionally, print a test page to confirm successful setup.

Troubleshooting Steps

  • Check the power
    Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
  • Check the cartridges
    Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also make sure that there is enough ink and that the cartridges fit the model of your printer
  • Check paper
    If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure there are no jams in the printer. You can now shut off the paper tray.
  • Check Wi-Fi connection
    Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
    Make sure that the Wi-Fi is stable
  • Reset the printer
    Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
  • Update printer drivers
    If the drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
