Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon TS3160 setup on Windows
- Unbox and connect the printer to a power source and turn it on.
- Open the printer’s ink cartridge door and insert the ink cartridges into the respective slots (Black and Colour).
- Insert paper into the rear paper tray.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page·
- Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer driver
- When prompted during setup, select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect the printer wirelessly.
- After installation, print a test page to confirm successful setup.
Canon TS3160 setup on macOS
- Unbox the printer, remove protective tapes, and plug it into a power source.
- Turn the printer on.
- Open the ink cartridge door and insert the black and color ink cartridges into their respective slots.
- Load paper into the rear tray
- Download Drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer software.
- During the setup process, select your Wi-Fi network and enter your password to connect the printer.
- Once the installation is complete, print a test page to verify the connection and setup.
Canon TS3160 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Power on the printer and ensure it’s connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the App Store and download the Canon Print app.
- Open the Canon Print app, tap “Add Printer”, and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer.
- Alternatively, if your printer supports Apple AirPrint:
- Ensure both your iOS device and printer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the document or photo you wish to print.
- Tap the Share icon, then select “Print”.
- Choose the Canon PIXMA TS3160 from the list of available printers.
- Adjust print settings as needed and tap “Print”.
- Print a test page to ensure normal operation.
Canon TS3160 setup on Android
- Remove protective tapes,
- Open the ink cartridge door and install the black and color ink cartridges into their respective slots.
- Place paper in the rear paper tray.
- Plug in the printer and power it on·
- On your Android device, go to the Google Play Store and download the Canon Print app.
- Open it and give necessary permissions
- Make sure your printer and Android device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- If your printer isn’t on Wi-Fi yet, use the app to start wireless setup and follow on-screen steps to connect the printer.
- Launch the app, and it will search for available printers.
- When your TS3160 appears, tap on it to add it.
- Try printing a photo or document from your device to confirm successful setup.
Canon TS3160 setup on Chromebook
- Unbox the printer, remove protective tapes, and plug it in. Turn the printer on.
- Open the ink cartridge door and install the black and color ink cartridges into their respective slots.
- Place paper in the rear paper tray.
- Connect Chromebook to Printer:
- On your Chromebook, click on the system tray (bottom-right corner) and open the Settings.
- Scroll down and select Advanced, then click Printing.
- Click Printers and select Add a Printer.
- Your Canon TS3160 should appear in the list of available printers.
- Choose the Canon printer and click Add.
- Once connected, try printing a test document to ensure everything is set up correctly
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check WiFi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the WiFi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers:
- If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
