Canon PIXMA TR4540 is a wireless inkjet printer with copying, scanning and faxing features. It comes in a very compact design that it can be fit in a small spaces too. It has included software like MP Driver including Scanning Utility, Easy-WebPrint EX (download).

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Setup for Windows
- Driver Installation:
- Driver Download links are on the bottom of the page.
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Connection Setup:
- Use the printer’s control panel to navigate to Wireless LAN Setup and connect to your Wi-Fi network, or use a USB cable for a wired connection.
- Ensure your computer and the printer are on the same network.
- Using the Printer:
- For printing: Open the document, click File > Print, and select the TR4540.
- For scanning: Use the Canon IJ Scan Utility or Windows Fax and Scan.

Setup for macOS
- Driver Installation:
- Driver Download links are on the bottom of the page.
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Add (+).
- If the TR4540 appears, select it. Otherwise, download the driver from Canon’s website and install it.
- Connection Setup:
- Use the printer’s control panel to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
- For USB, directly connect the printer to your Mac.
- Using the Printer:
- For printing: Select the TR4540 in the print dialog when printing a document or photo.
- For scanning: Use Image Capture or the Canon IJ Scan Utility.

Setup for iOS
- AirPrint Setup:
- Ensure the printer is on the same Wi-Fi network as your iOS device.
- Open the document or photo, tap Share > Print, and select the TR4540.
- Canon PRINT App:
- Download the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app from the App Store.
- Use the app to print, scan, and manage settings directly from your iOS device.
- Wi-Fi Direct:
- If no Wi-Fi network is available, connect your iOS device directly to the printer’s Wi-Fi Direct signal.

- Canon PRINT App:
- Download the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app from the Google Play Store.
- Use the app to connect the printer to Wi-Fi, print documents and photos, and scan.
- Wi-Fi Direct:
- Enable Wi-Fi Direct from the printer’s control panel.
- Connect your Android device to the printer’s Wi-Fi Direct network.
- Printing:
- Use the Canon PRINT app or Android’s built-in printing feature (Settings > Connected Devices > Printing).

Setup for Chromebook
- Direct Printing:
- Ensure the printer and Chromebook are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- On your Chromebook, go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers > Add Printer.
- Select the TR4540 from the list of available devices.
- Wi-Fi Direct:
- If no network is available, enable Wi-Fi Direct on the printer.
- Connect your Chromebook to the printer’s Wi-Fi Direct signal.
- Printing:
- Open a document in Chrome or Google Docs, click Print, and choose the TR4540.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Firmware Updates:
- Regularly check for firmware updates using the printer’s settings or the Canon PRINT app.
- Troubleshooting:
- Ensure the printer is powered on and connected to the same network as your device.
- Restart the printer and device if it doesn’t appear in the list of available printers.
