Overview

Canon MAXIFY GX4010 is 4-in-1 wireless printer which delivers high resolution printing with clear images at an increasingly affordable cost. It uses a continuous ink supply system, which can significantly reduce ink costs by utilizing high-volume ink bottles. Canon MAXIFY GX4010 is Energy Star®, EPEAT certified.

Unboxing & Initial Setup

  1. Carefully unpack your PIXMA GX4010 printer from the box.
  2. Remove all packaging materials and protective tapes from the printer.
  3. Open the ink tank cover located on the front or top of the printer.
  4. Remove the caps from the ink bottles provided in the box.
  5. Insert the ink bottles into their corresponding color-coded tanks. Ensure that each bottle is securely in place and that you fill each tank completely.
  6. Close the ink tank cover.
  7. Connect one end of the power cord to the printer’s power port located at the back of the printer.
  8. Plug the other end of the power cord into a power outlet.
  9. Load a stack of plain paper into the tray. Make sure the paper is aligned properly and not exceeding the maximum capacity.

Canon GX4010 setup on Windows

  1. Connect to the same Wi-Fi:
  2. Make sure your Chromebook and Canon GX4010 printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

     2. Select your printer: 

  1. Canon G4000 from the list of available printers.

     3. Compatibility check:

  1. Your Chromebook will automatically perform a compatibility check when you select the printer.

     4.   Save the printer:

  1. To save the printer for future use, navigate to Settings > Device > Printers and scanners and select your printer.

    5. Start printing:

  1. Once your printer is set up, you can start printing your documents or images. 

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Power and Basic Functionality:
  2. Ensure the printer is powered on, has paper and ink, and that there are no error lights or messages displayed.
  3. USB Connection:
  4. If using a USB connection, make sure the cable is properly plugged into both the printer and computer.
  5. Wireless Connection:
  6. If printing wirelessly, verify the network connection by printing a network configuration page, according to a YouTube tutorial.
  7. Error Messages on the Printer
  8. Error Messages in Printer Status Monitor:
  9. If an error message appears in the printer’s status monitor on your computer, refer to the manual for solutions. Examples include insufficient disk space or memory, or a missing printer driver.
  10. 5. Clogged Printhead: A common cause of poor print quality is a clogged or dried-out
  11. 6. Paper Jams: Clear any paper jams according to the instructions in the manual.
