The Canon PIXMA MP237 is a multifunction inkjet printer offering printing, scanning, and copying capabilities. To ensure optimal performance and compatibility with your devices, follow the setup instructions for each platform below.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon MP237 setup on Windows
- Download and Install Drivers:
- Driver Downloads are available in the Bottom of the page.
- Navigate to the “Drivers, Software & Firmware” section.
- Select the appropriate driver for your Windows version and download it.
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- Connect the Printer:
- During installation, connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable when prompted.
- Ensure the printer is powered on.
Canon MP237 setup on macOS
- Download and Install Drivers:
- Driver Downloads are available in the Bottom of the page.
- In the “Drivers & Downloads” section, select the driver compatible with your macOS version and download it.
- Open the downloaded file and follow the installation prompts.
- Add the Printer:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the “+” button to add a new printer.
- Select your Canon MP237 from the list and click “Add”.
Canon MP237 setup on iPhone & iPad
iOS:
The PIXMA MP237 is primarily designed for USB connectivity and does not support direct wireless printing from mobile devices. To print from iOS devices:
- Transfer Files to a Computer:
- Use cloud services, email, or a USB connection to transfer documents or photos from your mobile device to a computer connected to the MP237.
- Print the files from the computer.
Canon MP237 setup on Android
Android:
The PIXMA MP237 is primarily designed for USB connectivity and does not support direct wireless printing from mobile devices. To print from Android devices:
- Transfer Files to a Computer:
- Use cloud services, email, or a USB connection to transfer documents or photos from your mobile device to a computer connected to the MP237.
- Print the files from the computer.
Canon MP237 setup on Chromebook
Chromebook:
Since the PIXMA MP237 lacks wireless connectivity, printing from a Chromebook requires connecting the printer to a Windows or Mac computer and sharing it over the network. Alternatively:
- Transfer Files to a Computer:
- Use cloud services or external storage devices to transfer documents from the Chromebook to a computer connected to the printer.
- Print the files from the computer.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer not connecting to wi-fi:
- Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
- Solutions:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
- Place the printer close to the router
- Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
- Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
- Restart the router and printer
- Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
- Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
- Solutions:
- Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
- Restart your printer and device
- Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
- For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
- On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
- Solutions:
- Paper Jam:

- Turn off the printer
- Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
- Check for torn paper pieces
- Restart the printer
- Solutions:
- Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors):
- Solution:
- Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
- Run Print Head Cleaning:
- Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
- Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
- Ensure you’re using compatible paper
- Solution:
