Canon PIXMA MG5650 is a wireless printer offering print, copy, scan and cloud link. It uses 5 individual ink tanks for quality printing, sharp text and vivid colors. Canon PIXMA MG5650 comes with included software like MP Driver including Scanning Utility, My Image Garden with Full HD Movie Print, Quick Menu and Easy-Web Print EX.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take out the printer from the box.
- Take all accessories out and remove all the packaging materials.
- Remove the protective tapes.
- Press on the power button to turn the printer on.
- Install the ink cartridges.
- Load the paper.

Canon MG5650 setup on Windows
Setting up Canon PIXMA MG5650 – Windows (Wi-fi):
- Prepare the printer:
- From the home screen, press the down arrow, press ok when WLAN appears.
- Press ok to select wireless LAN setup.
- Now the printer will search for nearby wireless routers.
- On your wireless router, press the WPS button.
- On the printer press the ok button.
- Your printer is connected.
- Download the Drivers:
- Download and install the driver from the bottom of the page.
- Once the installation is completed, run the installed file.
- Print the Test page:
- Open a document, photo, or webpage.
- Use Ctrl + P >Select your Canon PIXMA MG5650 printer.
- Print.
USB Setup (Wired Setup):
- Download the Drivers:
- Download and install the necessary drivers from the bottom of the page.
- Once the driver installation is completed, run the installed file.
- Connect the USB Cable to your printer:
- Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your PC.
- Go to the settings of your PC.
- Search for bluetooth and devices.
- Click on Printers and Scanners.
- From the available printers list select your Canon PIXMA MG5650.
- Print the Test page:
- Open a document, photo, or webpage.
- Use Ctrl + P >Select your Canon PIXMA MG5650 printer.
- Print.

Setting up Canon PIXMA MG5650 – Mac (Wifi):
- Download Drivers:
- Download the driver package from the bottom of the page.
- Once the installation is completed , run the installed file.
- Prepare the printer:
- From the home screen, press the down arrow, press ok when WLAN appears.

USB Setup (Wired Setup):
- Download Drivers:
- Download the driver package from the bottom of the page.
- Once the installation is completed , run the file.
- Connect the USB Cable to your printer:
- Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your Mac.
- On your Mac click on the system preference option.
- Now click on Printer and Scanners.
- The available printers list will appear on the screen, select your Canon PIXMA MG5650.
- Print the Test page:
- Open a document, photo, or webpage.
- Use Ctrl + P >Select your Canon PIXMA MG5650 printer.
- Print.

Setting up Canon PIXMA MG5650 – IOS:
- Connect to the Wifi:
- Turn on your Canon PIXMA MG5650.
- Make sure your Iphone/Ipad is connected to the secure internet connection.
- Ensure that your printer and device are on the same network.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Go to the app store.
- Search for the “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App”.
- Download and install the app.
- Add printer:
- Go to the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app.
- Now follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer.
- App will search for the available printers, Select your Canon PIXMA MG5650 from the available list.
- Click on Add printer.
- Print the Test page:
- Open a document, photo, or webpage.
- Use Ctrl + P >Select your Canon PIXMA MG5650 printer.
- Print.

Setting up Canon PIXMA MG5650 – Android:
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Download the app from the play store.
- Add the printer on the app:
- Click on the add icon on the phone.
- Now click on the register printer.
- Select your Canon PIXMA MG5650.
- Now the printer is installed on your phone.
- Print the Test page:
- Open a document, photo, or webpage.
- Use Ctrl + P >Select your Canon PIXMA MG5650 printer.
- Print.

Setting up Canon PIXMA MG5650 – Chrome OS (Wifi) :
- Connect the printer to Wifi connection:
- Choose your wifi connection from the available networks.
- Enter the password.
- Wait until the printer displays connected.
- Add Printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then Printers.
- Your Canon PIXMA MG5650 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- Open a document, photo, or webpage.
- Use Ctrl + P >Select your Canon PIXMA MG5650 printer.
- Print.
USB Setup (Wired Setup):
- Connect the printer to USB Cable:
- Plug the USB Cable into the printer and the other end to your Chromebook.
- Add printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then printers.
- Click on the Add Printer option.
- Your Canon PIXMA MG5650 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- Open a document, photo, or webpage.
- Use Ctrl + P >Select your Canon PIXMA MG5650 printer.
- Print.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected.
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also, ensure that there is enough ink.
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take them out of the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure that the paper tray is not jammed. You can now shut off the paper tray.
- Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
- Make sure that the WIFI connection is stable.
- Update the Driver:
- Outdated drivers may cause problems.
- Check for the latest driver updates for your printer model.
- Download and install the updated driver.
