Canon MG5150 is an all-in-one printer with capabilities like printing, copying, and scanning. It is a part of Canon’s well-known PIXMA series. It is a cost effective solution for students, home users. Canon MG5150 produces vibrant colour images and sharp text. It comes in a very compact design. It is best for high volume usages.

Unboxing & Initial Setup

  1. Take the printer out of the box.
  2. Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
  3. Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
  4. Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
  5. Install the toner cartridges.
  6. Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon MG5150 setup on Windows

Set up guide for Canon MG5150 on Windows:

  1. Power ON the Printer:
    To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
  2. Driver Download:
    Download the latest drivers from the link given at the bottom of the page.
    When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Connect the Printer:
    Run the driver file you downloaded.
    Select wifi Connection.
    Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
    Connect Canon MG5150 to your Wi-Fi network
    Now follow the on-screen instructions and complete the process.
  4. Print the Test page:
    To make sure it’s functioning, try printing a test page from Word or Notepad.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check the power:
    Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected.
  2. Check the cartridges:
    Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also, ensure that there is enough ink.
  3. Check paper:
    If the papers are not arranged correctly, take them out of the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure that the paper tray is not jammed. You can now shut off the paper tray.
  4. Check Wi-Fi Connection:
    Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
    Make sure that the WIFI connection is stable.
  5. Update the Driver:
    Outdated drivers may cause problems.
    Check for the latest driver updates for your printer model.
    Download and install the updated driver.
