Overview
Canon MG4200 is an all-in-one inkjet printer which offers printing, copying, and scanning. It is designed for home and small office use. The Canon MG4200 is very convenient to use. It is enhanced with features like wi-fi connectivity.

- Print Speed is 9.9 ipm for black and 5.7 ipm for colored.
- Photo print speed is 44 seconds.
- Print Resolution is 4800 x 1200 dpi for colored and 600 x 600 dpi for black.
- Supports various paper sizes.
- Duplex Printing.

- Flatbed CIS scanner type.
- Scanning resolution is 1200 x 2400 dpi.
Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Cut the seal and open the flaps to open the box.
- Take out any included manuals, power cables, and USB devices.
- Remove the printer’s foam and plastic by lifting it out.
- Remove the tape, peel off the orange and blue tapes on the outside and inside.
- To install toner, shake the cartridge, take off the seal, and put it in.
- Insert paper after adjusting the tray.
- Connect power.

Canon MG4200 setup on Windows
Setup guide for Canon MG4200 on Windows with Wifi:
- Power on the Printer:
a. To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
a. Select wifi Connection.
b. Enter the password.
c. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
d. Connect Canon MG4200 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download Drivers:
a. Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
b. When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Setup guide for Canon MG4200 on Windows with USB:
- Turn the printer on:
a. Plug into the power cord and press the power button to turn the printer on.
- Connect the Printer to Your PC:
a. Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your PC.
- Download Drivers:
a. Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
b. When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon MG4200 setup on macOS
Setting up Canon MG4200 on Mac with Wifi:
- Power on the Printer:
a. To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
a. Select wifi Connection.
b. Enter the password.
c. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
d. Connect Canon MG4200 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download Drivers:
a. Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
b. Select your macOS version from the dropdown (e.g., macOS Ventura, Monterey, etc.).
c. When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Add Printer to Mac (If Required):
a. Go to system settings > Printers & Scanners.
b. Click on add a printer, scanner, fax.
c. The Mac will automatically detect the Canon MG4200.
d. Select it and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Setting up Canon MG4200 on Mac with USB:
- Power on the Printer:
a. To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the Power button.
- Download Drivers:
a. Download the drivers and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
b. When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Connect the Printer to Your Mac:
a. Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your Mac.
- Add Printer to Mac (If needed):
a. Go to system settings > Printers & Scanners.
b. Click on add printer or scanner.
c. Mac will automatically detect the Canon MG4200.
d. Select it and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon MG4200 setup on iPhone & iPad
Setting up Canon MG4200 on IOS with Wifi:
- Turn the printer on:
a. Plug into the power cord and press the power button to turn the printer on.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
a. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
b. Search for “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY”.
c. Tap Download and install the app.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
a. Select wifi Connection.
b. Enter the password.
c. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
d. Connect Canon MG4200 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Add Printer:
a. Click on the “+” icon (usually at the top or bottom of the screen) to add a printer.
b. App will search for printers on your Wi-Fi network.
c. Your device will automatically detect Canon MG4200.
d. Select it and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Setting up Canon MG4200 on IOS with Airprint:
You can also use Air Print to print without downloading any app:
- Open an image, email, or document.
- Click on the share icon.
- Select Print.
- Select Canon MG4200 from the printer list.
- Click Print.
Canon MG4200 setup on Android
Setting up Canon MG4200 on Android:
- Turn on the Printer:
a. To turn on the printer, plug in the power cord and press the power button.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
a. Select wifi Connection.
b. Enter the password.
c. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
d. Connect Canon MG4200 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
a. Open the Play Store on your Phone.
b. Search for “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY”.
c. Tap Download and install the app.
- Connect Printer to Wi-Fi Using App:
a. In the Canon PRINT app, click “Add Printer”.
b. Select “Register Printer” > “Connect via Wireless Router”.
c. App will automatically detect your printer.
d. Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.
- Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected.
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also, ensure that there is enough ink.
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take them out of the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure that the paper tray is not jammed. You can now shut off the paper tray.
- Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
- Make sure that the WIFI connection is stable.
- Update the Driver:
- Outdated drivers may cause problems.
- Check for the latest driver updates for your printer model.
- Download and install the updated driver.
