Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon MG2550S setup on Windows
Setting up Guide for Windows:
- Download and Install the Printer Drivers
Select your Windows version from the dropdown.
Download the recommended Full Driver & Software Package. - Install the Printer
Run the downloaded installer file.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
When prompted, connect the printer via USB cable to your Windows computer.
The system will detect the printer and complete the installation process.
USB cable is often not included, so ensure you have a standard USB A to B printer cable. - Print a Test Page
After installation, go to the Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
Right-click the Canon MG2550S printer icon → Printer Properties → Print Test Page.

Setting up Guide for MAC:
- Download and Install Drivers for Mac
Select your macOS version from the list (e.g., macOS 12, 13, etc.).
Download the latest:
Full Driver & Software Package or
Individual drivers (printer driver & scanner driver) - Connect the Printer
Connect the printer to your Mac using a USB cable (USB-A to USB-B, often not included). - Add the Printer to Your Mac
Open System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS).
Go to Printers & Scanners.
Click the ‘+’ (Add) button.
Your Canon MG2550S should appear in the list—select it.
macOS may auto-detect and install the printer driver. If not, use the downloaded drivers. - Print a Test Page
Open any document (TextEdit, Notes, etc.).
Select File → Print.
Choose Canon MG2550S as the printer and print a test page.
Canon MG2550S setup on Chromebook
Setting up Guide for Chromebook:
- USB Connection Setup (If Supported)
Some newer Chromebooks support direct USB printer connections:
Steps:
- Connect the MG2550S to your Chromebook using a USB A to B cable.
- Turn ON the printer.
- On your Chromebook:
- Go to Settings → Advanced → Printing → Printers
- Click Add Printer
- If your printer appears, select it and follow the prompts.
2. Printing via Connected PC (Recommended for MG2550S)
- Since MG2550S lacks Wi-Fi:
- Connect the printer to a Windows or Mac PC.
- From your Chromebook, transfer files to that PC:
- Use Google Drive, Email, or File Sharing apps.
- Print the document from the connected PC.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer Not Detected (Windows or Mac)
- Check Connections
Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and computer.\
Try a different USB port.
Restart the printer and computer.
Driver Reinstallation
Uninstall any old drivers.
Download the latest drivers from Canon’s Official Support Page. - Printer Not Responding
Ensure the printer is powered ON.
Check if the ink cartridges are properly installed.
Confirm there are no paper jams.
Run the Printer Troubleshooter on Windows.
Go to Settings → Devices → Printers & Scanners
Select your printer → Manage → Run the troubleshooter - Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, or Blurry Prints)
Perform a Nozzle Check & Cleaning:
On Windows:
Go to Devices and Printers
Right-click Canon MG2550S → Printing Preferences
Locate Maintenance tab → Perform Nozzle Check or Cleaning
Use genuine Canon ink cartridges.
Check paper type and settings match. - Paper Jam or Paper Feed Issues
Turn off the printer and unplug it.
Gently remove any jammed paper from:
Rear paper tray
Front output slot
Ensure the paper is loaded correctly and not exceeding the limit (max 60 sheets).
Use flat, good-quality paper.
