Canon MF4600 is a monochrome laser printer. It also offers scanning and copying. It is designed for offices, students and homes. Canon MF4600 supports wireless connectivity. It is a blend of productivity and reliability.

Unboxing & Initial Setup

  1. Take all the accessories and the printer itself from the box.
  2. Remove all the packaging materials.
  3. Remove the protective tape.
  4. Press on the power button to turn the printer on.
  5. Unpack the ink cartridges and install them.
  6. Load the paper.

Canon MF4600 setup on Windows

Setting up Canon MF4600 – Windows (Wi-fi):

  1. Prepare the Printer:
    • On the printer display press Menu icon.
    • Tap Network Settings
    • Tap wireless LAN settings
    • Select SSID settings
    • Tap Select Access Point
    • Choose your wi-fi network from the list and enter the password.
    • Your printer is connected.
  2. Download the Drivers:
    • Download and install the driver from the bottom of the page.
    • Once the installation is completed, run the installed file.
  3. Print the Test page:
    • Print a test page to confirm the setup.

USB Setup (Wired Setup):

  1. Download the Drivers:
    • Download and install the necessary drivers from the bottom of the page.
    • Once the driver installation is completed, run the installed file.
  2. Connect the USB Cable to your printer:
    • Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your PC.
    • Go to the settings of your PC.
    • Search for bluetooth and devices.
    • Click on Printers and Scanners.
    • From the available printers list select your Canon MF4600.
  3. Print the Test page:
    • Print a test page to confirm the setup.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Minor print issues:
    • Try to restart the printer that can resolve minor issues. 
  2. Low print quality or poor connectivity issues:
    • Outdated drivers can cause problems. Check the latest driver for your operating system. 
  3. WPS Connection (If Available):
    • Make sure your router supports the WPS.
    • Ensure your printer and router has strong signals.
    • Move your printer closer to the router for a strong connection.
  4. Printer is offline or not responding:
    • If your computer and printer aren’t communicating, try cancelling existing print jobs.
    • Try setting your Canon printer as the default printer.
    • Restart the Print Spooler service on Windows.
    • Check cables and wi-fi.
