Unboxing & Initial Setup

  1. Remove all packaging material and protective tapes from the printer
  2. Take out documentation material, power cord and other accessories from the box.
  3. Connect the power cord and turn ON the printer
  4. Install the ink cartridges
  5. Load paper into the paper tray

Canon MF4450d setup on Windows

Setting up Guide for Windows:

1.Download & Install Drivers

a. Search for MF4450d.

b. Go to the Drivers & Downloads section.

c. Select your macOS version.

2. Using Generic macOS Drivers

a. If specific drivers aren’t available, macOS may automatically detect the printer and use generic AirPrint for basic printing.

3.Add the Printer on macOS

a. Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners

b. Add (Printer.scanner.Fax)

c. Select Canon MF4450d from the list.

d. Click Add.

4.Installing Canon MF Toolbox for Scanning

a. If available for your macOS version, install MF Toolbox to enable scanning.

b. For unsupported versions, you may need to use macOS Preview or Image

5. Print documents from your Mac.

a. Scan using MF Toolbox or macOS apps (if supported).

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Printer not connecting to wi-fi:
    • Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
    • Solutions:
      • Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
      • Place the printer close to the router
      • Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
      • Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
      • Restart the router and printer
      • Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
  2. Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
    • Solutions:
      • Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
      • Restart your printer and device
      • Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
      • For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
      • On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
  3. Paper Jam:
    • Solutions:
      • Turn off the printer
      • Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
      • Check for torn paper pieces
      • Restart the printer
  4. Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors):
    • Solution:
      • Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
      • Run Print Head Cleaning:
      • Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
      • Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
      • Ensure you’re using compatible paper
