Overview
The Canon MB 5450 is a heavy-duty, all-in-one inkjet printer designed for small offices, featuring printing, copying, scanning, and faxing capabilities. It boasts fast print speeds of up to 24 ipm (images per minute) in black and white, a 500-sheet paper capacity, and a 50-sheet automatic document feeder.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Remove all packaging material and protective tapes from the printer
- Take out documentation material, power cord and other accessories from the box.
- Connect the power cord and turn ON the printer
- Install the ink cartridges
- Load paper into the paper tray

Canon MB5450 setup on Windows
Setting up Guide for Windows:
- Connect to your network:
- Wired Connection (Ethernet):If you’re using a wired connection, simply plug one end of an Ethernet cable into the printer and the other end into your router or network switch.
- Wireless Connection: Using WPS: If your router supports WPS, you can use the push-button method.
- Navigate to LAN settings > Wireless LAN setup > WPS (Push button method) on the printer’s LCD screen and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Cableless Setup: Alternatively, you can use the cableless setup method. Go to LAN settings > Wireless LAN setup > Cableless setup on the printer’s LCD screen and then
- Install drivers and software:
- Using the CD: If you have the printer’s setup CD, insert it into your computer and
- Test print:
- The installation wizard will prompt you to perform a test print to ensure everything is working correctly.

Setting up Guide for MAC:
- Connecting to the Network:
- Wi-Fi: If you’re using a Wi-Fi connection, you might need to temporarily connect your printer to your Mac with a USB cable to initially set up the wireless connection.
- WPS: If your router has a WPS button, you can use the WPS method to connect your printer to the wireless network.
- Tap the Wi-Fi symbol on the printer’s LCD screen, then tap “LAN settings,” then “Wireless LAN setup,” and finally “WPS (Push button method)”.
- Press and hold the WPS button on your router for about 5 seconds, then tap “OK” on the printer.
- After connecting to the network, you can disconnect the USB cable (if used).
- Adding the Printer to Your Mac:
- Open System Settings (or System Preferences) on your Mac and navigate to Printers & Scanners.
- Click the “Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax” button.
- Select your MB5450 printer from the list of available printers and click “Add”.
- The printer should now be added to your list of printers, and you can use it for printing and scanning.

Setting up Guide for IOS:
- Connect the Printer to your Wi-Fi Network:
- Using Cableless Setup:If WPS isn’t available, you can use the Cableless Setup. Start this from the printer’s control panel by navigating to LAN settings > Wireless LAN setup > Cableless setup.
- Using a USB Cable: If you prefer, you can connect the printer to your computer or tablet with a USB cable. After the connection, the printer driver will be automatically detected, and you can continue with the software installation.
- Install the Software and Register the Printer:
- Download and Install Drivers:If you’re not using a USB connection, you’ll need to download the printer drivers.
- Install Canon PRINT app:For iOS devices, you’ll need to download the Canon PRINT app from the App Store. Canon’s manual recommends.
- Register the Printer:
- Print from your iOS Device:
- Using AirPrint:Once the printer is connected and registered, you can use AirPrint to print from your iPhone or iPad. Simply select the “Print” option in the app you are using and choose your Canon MB5450 printer.
- Using Canon PRINT app: Alternatively, you can use the Canon PRINT app to print, offering more advanced settings and features.

Setting up Guide for Android:
- Download the Canon PRINT app:
- Search for and download the “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY” app from the Google Play Store.
- Connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network:
- WPS Method: If your router has a WPS button, power on the printer, navigate to LAN settings > Wireless LAN setup > WPS (Push button method) on the printer’s screen, and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Manual Setup: If WPS isn’t available, you can connect via the Canon PRINT app.
- Register the printer in the app:
- Open the Canon PRINT app and tap on “Register Printer.” The app will search for your printer; select it from the list.
- Start using the app:
- Once registered, you can use the app to print from your device, scan documents, and access other features.

Setting up Guide for Chromebook:
- Connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network: Refer to your printer’s manual or setup guide for instructions on connecting it to your wireless network.
- Ensure your Chromebook is also connected to the same network.
- Access printer settings on your Chromebook: Click the time in the bottom right corner of your Chromebook screen, then click the Settings icon.
- Navigate to Printers and scanners: Scroll down to “Device” and then click on “Printers and scanners”.
- Add your printer manually: Click on “Add printer manually”.
- Click “Add” to complete the setup .
Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer Offline:Check the print spooler service on your computer, restart it, and set it to automatic startup.
- Paper Jams:Ensure proper paper loading and clear any obstructions in the paper path.
- Print Quality Issues:Perform a print head cleaning, check ink levels, and verify printer settings.
- Network Connection Problems:Verify your network settings, try a wired connection if wireless is problematic, and ensure the network key is correct.
