The Canon MAXIFY MB2020 is a discontinued wireless all-in-one inkjet printer designed for home-based businesses, combining printing, scanning, copying, and faxing capabilities. It is known for quick print times, cost efficiency, and durable ink.

- Paper Handling: It handles large jobs with a 250-sheet paper cassette and a high-speed 50-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) for multi-page scanning and copying.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Remove all packaging material and protective tapes from the printer
- Take out documentation material, power cord and other accessories from the box.
- Connect the power cord and turn ON the printer
- Install the ink cartridges
- Load paper into the paper tray

Canon MB2020 setup on Windows
Setting up Guide for Windows:
- Download the drivers:
- Select your operating system (Windows version) and download the necessary files, such as the “Master Setup” or similar package.
- Install the drivers:
- Locate the downloaded file and double-click it to start the installation.
- Follow the on-screen instructions, which will guide you through the installation process.
- You may need to agree to the license agreement, select your connection type (USB or Wi-Fi), and potentially restart your computer.
- Connect the printer:
- USB: If using a USB connection, plug the USB cable into both your computer and the printer. The driver installation should automatically detect the printer.
- Wi-Fi: The printer will need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer. You may also need to use the printer’s control panel to initiate the Wi-Fi setup.
- Install Canon Inkjet Print Utility (optional but recommended):
- This software allows for more advanced printer settings and maintenance tasks.
- Test the setup:
- Once the installation is complete, you can test the connection by printing a test page or by printing from an application.

Setting Up Guide for MAC:
- Connect to your network:
- If connecting wirelessly, make sure the printer and your Mac are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Download the driver:
- Download the appropriate driver for macOS.
- Install the driver:
- Double-click the downloaded file (usually a .dmg file) to mount the disk image, then double-click the packaged file inside to start the installation.
- Add the printer:
- Open System Preferences and click on “Printers & Scanners”.
- Add a printer.
- Select your printer and click “Add”.
- If your printer and Mac are on the same network, you can also use AirPrint, which doesn’t. require installing a separate driver, according to Canon.
- Ensure your printer is compatible with AirPrint and connected to your network.

Setting up Guide for IOS:
- Install the Canon PRINT app: Download and install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app from the Apple App Store.
- Start the app and begin setup: Open the app and tap the + (Plus) icon.
- Register the printer: Tap “Register Printer”.
- Connect to the printer’s Wi-Fi: The app will guide you to connect your iOS device to the printer’s temporary Wi-Fi network
- Select your network: Once connected to the printer’s Wi-Fi, the app will search for available wireless networks. Select your home or office Wi-Fi network.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password: Enter the password for your chosen Wi-Fi network.
- Complete the setup: The app will send the network settings to the printer and complete the registration process.
- Print a test page: The app will likely prompt you to print a test page to confirm the connection.
Canon MB2020 setup on Android
Setting up Guide for Android:
- Install Canon PRINT app:
- Download and install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app from the Google Play Store on your Android device.
- Connect to Wi-Fi:
- Ensure your Canon MB2020 printer and Android device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, says Cartridge World.
- Open the app and add the printer:
- Tap the “Add Printer” button and the app will search for available Canon printers on your network.
- Select your printer:
- Once your printer is found, select it from the list.
- Follow in-app instructions:
- The app will guide you through the remaining steps to complete the printer registration and setup.
- Print from your Android device:
- You can print documents and photos directly from your Android device using the Canon PRINT app.
Canon MB2020 setup on Chromebook
Setting up Guide for Chromebook:
- Add the Printer to your Chromebook:
- On your Chromebook, go to Settings (the gear icon).
- Select “Advanced” and then “Printers and scanners”.
- Add printer” or “Add printer manually”.
- Printing and Scanning:
- Once added, your printer should appear in the list of available printers.
- You can now print documents and scan items using your Canon MB2020 from your Chromebook.
- For scanning, you might need to use the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app if your printer doesn’t have native Chromebook support for scanning.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer Not Responding:
- Check connections: Ensure the printer is powered on, has paper and ink, and the USB cable (if used) is securely connected.
- Check software: Verify the printer drivers are installed correctly and up-to-date. Try running the Windows printer troubleshooter.
- Reboot: Restart both the printer and the computer.
- Printing Issues:
- Paper Jams: Check for paper jams and clear any obstructions.
- Poor Print Quality: Clogged printheads can affect print quality. Try cleaning the printheads using the printer’s maintenance menu.
- Slow Printing:
- Check the USB connection speed and ensure the system environment supports Hi-Speed USB.
- Scanning Issues:
