Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take out the printer from the box.
- Take all accessories out and remove all the packaging materials.
- Remove the protective tapes.
- Plug in the power cord and press the power button to turn the printer on.
- Select the language, country, time zone, date and time.
- Install the ink cartridges.
- Load the paper.

Setting up Canon i-SENSYS LBP646Cdw – Windows (Wi fi):
- Prepare the printer:
Make sure your printer is plugged in and powered on, the main screen will light up.
Press the energy saver icon to wake the printer.
On the home screen select menu and press ok.
Select preferences and press ok.
Use the down arrow to select the network.
Choose select wires/wireless LAN.
Press ok.
Select wireless LAN.
Use the arrow down and select wireless LAN settings.
Press ok.
Select SSID settings and press ok.
Choose select access point.
List of available networks will be displayed, select your wi-fi network.
Enter the password.
- Download the Drivers:
Download and install the driver from the bottom of the page.
Once the installation is completed, run the installed file.
- Print the Test page:
Print a test page to confirm the setup.
USB Setup (Wired Setup):
- Download the Drivers:
Download and install the necessary drivers from the bottom of the page.
Once the driver installation is completed, run the installed file.
- Connect the USB Cable to your printer:
Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your PC.
Go to the settings of your PC.
Search for bluetooth and devices.
Click on Printers and Scanners.
From the available printers list select your Canon i-SENSYS LBP646Cdw.

Setting up Canon i-SENSYS LBP646Cdw – Mac (Wi-fi):
- Download Drivers:
Download the driver package from the bottom of the page.
Once the installation is completed , run the installed file.

On your Mac click on the system preference option.
Now click on Printer and Scanners.
The available printers list will appear on the screen, select your Canon i-SENSYS LBP646Cdw.

Setting up Canon i-SENSYS LBP646Cdw – IOS:
- Connect to the Wifi:
Turn on your Canon i-SENSYS LBP646Cdw.

Ensure that your printer and device are on the same network.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
Go to the app store.
Search for the “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App”.
Download and install the app.
- Add printer:
Go to the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app.

Click on Add printer.

Setting up Canon i-SENSYS LBP646Cdw – Chrome OS (Wi-fi) :

Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer not connecting to wifi:
- Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
- Solutions:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
- Place the printer close to the router
- Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
- Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
- Restart the router and printer
- Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
- Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
- Solutions:
- Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
- Restart your printer and device
- Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
- For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
- On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
- Paper Jam:
- Solutions:
- Turn off the printer
- Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
- Check for torn paper pieces
- Restart the printer
- Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors):
- Solution:
- Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
- Run Print Head Cleaning:
- Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
- Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
- Ensure you’re using compatible paper
