Overview

The Canon PIXMA iX6810 is a wireless inkjet printer designed for business use, specifically for printing large format documents like spreadsheets, CAD drawings, and presentation charts up to A3+ size (13″ x 19″). It boasts high-resolution color printing (up to 9600 x 2400 dpi) and offers features like individual ink tanks, wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi and Ethernet), and compatibility with mobile devices for printing and scanning.

Unboxing & Initial Setup

  1. Remove all packaging material and protective tapes from the printer
  2. Take out documentation material, power cord and other accessories from the box.
  3. Connect the power cord and turn ON the printer
  4. Install the ink cartridges
  5. Load paper into the paper tray

Setting up Guide for Windows:

  1. Download the software:
  2. Download the “Full Driver & Software Package” for the iX6800 series

      2.   Run the installer:Locate the downloaded file and double-click it to start the process.

      3. Connect the printer:

  1. During the setup, you’ll be prompted to connect the printer to your computer. You can choose either a USB connection or a wireless network connection.
  2. USB: Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable.
  3. Wireless: Ensure your computer and printer are connected to the same wireless network.

     4. The setup wizard will guide you through the rest of the installation.

     5. Complete the installation:

  1. Once the installation is complete, you can access the printer’s functions.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Power and Connections:
  2. Ensure the printer is powered on, has ink cartridges properly installed, and is loaded with paper.
  3. USB Connection:
  4. If using a USB connection, make sure the cable is securely plugged into both the printer and the computer.
  5. Wireless Connection:
  6. If using a wireless connection, print a network configuration page to check the printer’s Wi-Fi status and ensure it’s properly connected to the network.
  7. Error Lights:
  8. Observe the printer’s lights. If the alarm lamp flashes orange, it indicates an error, according to Canon support. If the POWER lamp and alarm lamp flash alternately, it may require contacting support.
  9. Paper Jams:
  10. Check for and remove any jammed paper
