Overview
Canon PIXMA iP4000 is a photo printer which is known for its direct disc printing, borderless photo printing. It uses Canon’s FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) print head technology and individual ink tanks for efficient ink usage.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take all the accessories out and remove the packaging material.
- Remove the protective tape.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the ink.
- Load paper.

Canon iP4000 setup on Windows
Setting up Canon PIXMA iP4000 – Windows (USB):
- Download the Drivers:
a. Download the drivers from the bottom of the page.
- Install the Driver:
a. Do not plug in the printer yet, install the driver first.
b. Run the downloaded installer.
- Connect the USB Cable to your printer:
a. Plug the USB cable to your printer and the other end to your PC.
b. Power on the printer.
b. Go to the control panel → Devices and Printers → Add a Printer → Add a Local Printer.
e. From the available printers list select your Canon PIXMA iP4000.
- Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.

Setting up Canon PIXMA iP4000 – Mac (USB):
- Download the Drivers:
a. Download the drivers from the bottom of the page.
- Install the Driver:
a. Install the driver package.
b. Go back to Printers & Scanners → + → Select the printer.
c. Select Canon PIXMA iP4000 – Gutenprint.
d. Click Add.
- Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer not connecting to wifi:
- Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
- Solutions:
- a. Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
- b. Place the printer close to the router
- c. Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
- d. Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
- e. Restart the router and printer
- f. Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
- Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
- Solutions:
- a. Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
- b. Restart your printer and device
- c. Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
- d. For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
- e. On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
- Paper Jam:
- Solutions:
- a. Turn off the printer
- b. Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
- c. Check for torn paper pieces
- d. Restart the printer
- Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors)
- Solution:
- a. Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
- b. Run Print Head Cleaning:
- c. Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
- d. Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
- e. Ensure you’re using compatible paper
