Overview
The Canon MAXIFY GX7150 is a high-volume, refillable MegaTank all‑in‑one inkjet printer tailored for busy home or small-business environments. It features integrated print, scan, copy, and fax capabilities—enhanced by a 50-sheet duplex ADF for efficient two‑sided document handling. With secure features like WPA3 and TLS 1.3, it balances speed, capacity, economy, and safety in a compact form factor.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Remove packaging materials
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Plug in the printer, and turn it on.
- Open the front panel and install the cartridges.
- Load preferred paper into the tray.

Canon GX7150 setup on Windows
- Use touchscreen to connect to Wi-Fi network.
- Download the software package and drivers from the bottom of the page.
- Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen prompts.
- Choose Wireless Connection when asked for a connection type.
- The installer will detect the printer on your network—select it and proceed.
- If prompted, install the driver and utility software packages.
- Once installed, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers to confirm your printer is listed.
- Print a test page to verify the installation.
Canon GX7150 setup on macOS
- Turn on the printer and use its touchscreen to connect it to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download drivers and software package from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and run the installer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and choose Wireless Connection as the setup method.
- The software will automatically search for and connect to the printer on your network.
- After installation, open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the “+” button to add a new printer if it hasn’t been added automatically.
- Select Canon GX7150 from the list and click Add.
- Print a test page to confirm setup.
Canon GX7150 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Power on the Canon MAXIFY GX7150 and connect it to your Wi-Fi network using the printer’s touchscreen.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the App Store and install the Canon Print app.
- Ensure your iOS device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
- Launch the Canon Print app and allow required permissions.
- Tap Add Printer or the “+” icon, then choose Register Printer.
- Select Connect via Wireless Router; the app will search for nearby printers.
- When MAXIFY GX7150 appears, tap it to complete the connection.
- Once connected, use the app to print photos, documents, and scan directly from your iOS device.
- Alternatively, use AirPrint: open a document or photo, tap the Share icon, and select Print.
- Choose Canon GX7150 from the list of available printers.
Canon GX7150 setup on Android
- On your Android device, open the Google Play Store and install the Canon Print app.
- Make sure your Android device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
- Launch the Canon Print app and allow the necessary permissions.
- Tap the “+” icon or select Add Printer, then tap Register Printer.
- Choose Connect via Wireless Router, and let the app search for nearby printers.
- When MAXIFY GX7150 appears, tap it to connect and complete setup.
- Once connected, you can print documents and photos directly from the app.
- The printer is now ready for Android wireless printing and scanning.
Canon GX7150 setup on Chromebook
- Turn on the Canon MAXIFY GX7150 and connect it to your Wi-Fi network using the printer’s control panel.
- On your Chromebook, ensure you’re connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Click the time in the bottom-right corner of the screen and select the Settings gear icon.
- Scroll down and click Advanced, then go to Printing > Printers.
- Click Add Printer — the GX7150 should appear automatically in the list.
- Select Canon MAXIFY GX7150 and click Add to finish the setup.
- If it doesn’t show, click Add manually, enter the printer name and IP address (found in printer’s network settings).
- Set the protocol to IPP and path to /ipp/print.
- Choose “Canon” or “Generic” driver if needed.
- Open any document or webpage, press Ctrl + P, and select the GX7150 as your printer.
- You can now print from your Chromebook.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also make sure that there is enough ink and that the cartridges fit the model of your printer
- Check paper
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure there are no jams in the printer. You can now shut off the paper tray.
- Check Wi-Fi connection
- Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi is stable
- Reset the printer
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers
- If the drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
