The Canon MAXIFY GX6580 is a high-performance, multifunction inkjet printer designed for small to medium-sized businesses, offering printing, scanning, copying, and faxing capabilities.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon GX6580 setup on Windows
Windows:
- Download and Install Drivers:
- Driver Downloads are available in the Bottom of the page.
- Click Download to obtain the setup file.
- Once downloaded, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- Connect the Printer:
- During installation, choose the connection method (USB or Network) as per your setup.
- For network connections, ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
Canon GX6580 setup on macOS
Mac:
- Download and Install Drivers:
- Driver Downloads are available in the Bottom of the page.
- Click Download to obtain the setup file compatible with macOS.
- Open the downloaded file and follow the installation prompts.
- Add the Printer:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the “+” button to add a new printer.
- Select your Canon GX6580 from the list and click “Add”.
Canon GX6580 setup on iPhone & iPad
iOS:
- Using AirPrint:
- Ensure your iOS device and the GX6580 printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the document or photo you wish to print.
- Tap the Share icon and select Print.
- Choose the Canon GX6580 printer and adjust settings as needed.
- Tap Print to start printing.
Canon GX6580 setup on Android
Android:
- Using Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Download and install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app from the Google Play Store.
- Ensure your Android device and the GX6580 printer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the app, select the document or image to print, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the printing process.
Canon GX6580 setup on Chromebook
Chromebook:
Using Wi-Fi Printing:
Ensure your Chromebook and the GX6580 printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Click the status area in the lower-right corner of the Chromebook screen.
Click the Settings gear icon.
Scroll down and click Advanced.
Under the “Printing” section, click Printers.
Click Add Printer.
Your Chromebook should detect the Canon GX6580 printer. Select it and click Add.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer not connecting to wi-fi:
- Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
- Solutions:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
- Place the printer close to the router
- Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
- Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
- Restart the router and printer
- Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
- Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
- Solutions:
- Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
- Restart your printer and device
- Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
- For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
- On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
- Solutions:
- Paper Jam:
- Solutions:
- Turn off the printer
- Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
- Check for torn paper pieces
- Restart the printer
- Solutions:
- Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors):
- Solution:
- Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
- Run Print Head Cleaning:
- Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
- Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
- Ensure you’re using compatible paper
- Solution:
