The Canon Mega Tank MAXIFY GX6120 is a high-capacity, low-cost multifunction printer designed for small offices and home business users. The GX6120 is ideal for high-volume workflows It’s ENERGY STAR and EPEAT Silver certified, backed by a 3-year/80,000-page warranty for dependable use.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Remove packaging materials
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Plug in the printer, and turn it on.
- Open the front panel and install the cartridges.
- Load preferred paper into the tray.

Canon GX6120 setup on Windows
Setting it up on Windows:
- Connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network via Wi-Fi Setup on the touchscreen (LAN Settings → Wireless LAN → Easy Setup).
- Download drivers and software package from the bottom of the page.
- Run the installation files
- During setup, select Wireless LAN Connection and follow the prompts to detect your printer.
- Complete the installation and check that the printer appears under Devices and Printers in the Control Panel.
- Print a test page to confirm setup.
Canon GX6120 setup on macOS
Setting it up on Mac:
- On the printer’s touchscreen, go to LAN Settings → Wireless LAN Setup → Easy Setup to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download drivers and software package from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
- Choose Wireless LAN Connection as your connection method during installation.
- Once setup is complete, go to System Settings → Printers & Scanners, click the + sign, and select Canon GX6120.
- Click Add, then print a test page to confirm successful setup.
Canon GX6120 setup on iPhone & iPad
Setting it up on iOS:
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the App Store and download the Canon Print app.
- Launch the app and allow necessary permissions such as Wi-Fi and notifications.
- Tap Add Printer → Register Printer → Auto Search to detect printers on your network.
- Select Canon GX6120 when it appears and complete the registration process.
- You can now use the app to print, scan, and manage printer settings from your iOS device.
- Alternatively, use AirPrint to print directly from apps like Safari, Photos, or Mail.
- Simply tap Share → Print, choose Canon GX6120, and tap Print.
Canon GX6120 setup on Android
Setting it up on Android:
- Turn on your Canon MAXIFY GX6120 and ensure it is not connected via USB.
- On the printer’s touchscreen, go to LAN Settings → Wireless LAN Setup → Easy Setup, and connect to your Wi-Fi network.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Play Store and install the Canon Print app.
- Launch the app and allow the necessary permissions (location, Wi-Fi, and storage).
- Tap Add Printer → Register Printer → Auto Search; the app will scan for printers on the same network.
- Select Canon GX6120 when it appears and follow the on-screen steps to register it.
- Once added, you can print photos, PDFs, web pages, and documents directly from the app.
- Alternatively, enable Mopria Print Service on your device for universal print support from most apps.
Canon GX6120 setup on Chromebook
Setting it up on Chromebook:
- Connect your Chromebook to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
- Click the time in the bottom-right corner > gear icon for Settings.
- In Settings, click Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- Your Chromebook should detect the HP LaserJet 1188FNW automatically; click Save.
- If not detected, click Add Printer, enter a name, IP address (from printer’s network config page), and choose “HP” as manufacturer.
- Open a document or webpage, press Ctrl + P, select your printer, and print a test page.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also make sure that there is enough ink and that the cartridges fit the model of your printer
- Check paper
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure there are no jams in the printer. You can now shut off the paper tray.
- Check Wi-Fi connection
- Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi is stable
- Reset the printer
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers
- If the drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
