Overview

Canon MAXIFY GX6020 is an all-in-one wireless printer offering high quality printing with crisp and sharp texts. It uses pigment based inks for that vivid colors. It is a high page yield printer up to 6,000 Black & White and 14,000 Color. Canon MAXIFY GX6020 is a reliable, compact and easy to use printer.

Unboxing & Initial Setup

  1. Carefully unpack your Canon GX6020 printer and remove all the protective materials.
  2. Locate the power cord provided with the printer. Connect one end of the power cord to the printer’s power input port, and the other end to a nearby power outlet.
  3. Open the paper tray located at the front of the printer. Adjust the paper guides to match the size of the paper you will be using. Load a stack of paper into the tray, making sure it is aligned properly and the guides are snug against the paper.
  4. Open the ink tank cover located on the right side of the printer. Take the first ink bottle provided and remove the cap. Insert the bottle into the corresponding color-coded ink tank and gently squeeze it until the ink tank is full. Repeat this process for the remaining ink bottles.
  5. Press the power button on the printer to turn it on. The printer will go through an initial setup process. Follow any instructions displayed on the printer’s control panel, if applicable.

Setting Up the Canon MAXIFY GX6020 on Windows

  1. Download the Printer Drivers:
    • Driver Download links are in the bottom of the page.
    • Save the file to your computer.
  2. Install the Drivers:
    • Locate the downloaded .exe file and double-click to launch the installer.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts, selecting “Wi-Fi” or “USB” as your connection method.
  3. Connect the Printer:
    • For Wi-Fi: Use the printer’s control panel to navigate to LAN Settings > Wi-Fi Setup and follow the instructions.
    • For USB: Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable.
  4. Complete the Setup:
    • Print a test page to confirm successful installation.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Ensure Network Stability: If the printer cannot connect, verify that your Wi-Fi network is stable and that the printer and device are on the same network.
  2. Update Firmware: Check for firmware updates on the Canon support site to ensure compatibility and performance.
  3. Restart Devices: Power cycle your printer, router, and device if connectivity issues persist.
