Overview
The Canon MAXIFY GX6000 series printers are business-ready Mega Tank printers that support wireless connectivity and mobile printing. Follow this step-by-step guide to set up your GX6000 on Windows, macOS, iPhone or iPad (iOS), and Android devices.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Remove all packaging materials, install the print heads, fill the ink tanks, and load paper into the tray.
- Turn on the printer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon GX6000 setup on Windows
- Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi
- On the printer’s touchscreen, go to Settings > LAN Settings > Wireless LAN Setup.
- Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.
- Download and Install the Printer Driver
- Driver Download Links are in the bottom of the page.
- Search for “MAXIFY GX6000” and download the Windows driver package.
- Run the installer and follow the prompts. Choose “Wireless Connection” during the setup.
- Complete Setup and Test Printing
- After installation, the printer should appear in your list of available devices.
- Print a test page from your system to verify the connection.
Canon GX6000 setup on macOS
- Download the macOS Software

- Download the latest macOS drivers and software.
- Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi
- Use the printer’s touchscreen panel to navigate to LAN Settings and connect to your Wi-Fi network.
- Add the Printer to Your Mac
- Open System Settings (or System Preferences) > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the plus (+) button to add a new printer. Select “Canon GX6000” from the list and click Add.
- Test the Setup
- Open any document and print to verify the connection is working properly.
Canon GX6000 setup on iPhone & iPad
Setup on iOS (iPhone or iPad)
- Ensure Devices Are on the Same Network
- Make sure your Canon GX6000 and your iPhone or iPad are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Use Apple AirPrint
- Open the app you want to print from, such as Safari, Mail, or Photos.
- Tap the Share icon, select Print, and then choose “Canon GX6000” from the list of available printers.
- Tap Print to complete the job.
Note: No additional apps or drivers are required for AirPrint.

Setup on Android
- Download the Canon PRINT App
- Open the Google Play Store and install the “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY” app.
- Connect and Register Your Printer
- Launch the app and tap Add Printer.
- Choose “Register Printer” and then select “Connect via Wireless Router”.
- Follow the instructions in the app to connect your Canon GX6000 to the network and register it.
- Start Printing
- Use the app to print photos, PDFs, or documents directly from your Android device. You can also use the app for scanning.
Troubleshooting Steps
- If your device cannot detect the printer, restart your printer, router, and the device you’re using.
- Ensure all devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- For the best results, keep your printer’s firmware updated through the printer’s settings menu.
