The Canon MAXIFY GX4080 is a multifunction inkjet printer designed for small to medium-sized businesses, offering printing, copying, scanning, and faxing capabilities.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon GX4080 setup on Windows
- Download and Install Drivers:
- Driver Downloads are available in the Bottom of the page.
- Click Download to obtain the setup file.
- Once downloaded, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- Connect the Printer:
- During installation, choose the connection method (USB or Network) as per your setup.
- For network connections, ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
Canon GX4080 setup on macOS
- Download and Install Drivers:
- Driver Downloads are available in the Bottom of the page.
- Click Download to obtain the setup file compatible with macOS.
- Open the downloaded file and follow the installation prompts.
- Add the Printer:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the “+” button to add a new printer.
- Select your Canon GX4080 from the list and click “Add”.
Canon GX4080 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Using AirPrint:
- Ensure your iOS device and the GX4080 printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the document or photo you wish to print.
- Tap the Share icon and select Print.
- Choose the Canon GX4080 printer and adjust settings as needed.
- Tap Print to start printing.
Canon GX4080 setup on Android
- Using Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Download and install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app from the Google Play Store.
- Ensure your Android device and the GX4080 printer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the app, select the document or image to print, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the printing process.
Canon GX4080 setup on Chromebook
- Using Wi-Fi Printing:
- Ensure your Chromebook and the GX4080 printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Click the status area in the lower-right corner of the Chromebook screen.
- Click the Settings gear icon.
- Scroll down and click Advanced.
- Under the “Printing” section, click Printers.
- Click Add Printer.
- Your Chromebook should detect the Canon GX4080 printer. Select it and click Add.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer not connecting to wi-fi:
- Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
- Solutions:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
- Place the printer close to the router
- Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
- Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
- Restart the router and printer
- Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
- Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
- Solutions:
- Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
- Restart your printer and device
- Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
- For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
- On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver

- Turn off the printer
- Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
- Check for torn paper pieces
- Restart the printer

- Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
- Run Print Head Cleaning:
- Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
- Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
- Ensure you’re using compatible paper
