Canon MAXIFY GX4040 is a high volume mega tank printer which delivers amazing prints with huge savings. It is ideal for homes, offices. It can produce up to 14,000 prints With a full set of ink bottles. Canon MAXIFY is an easy to use and low maintenance printer.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

- Download and Install Drivers:

- Download the appropriate drivers and software for Windows.
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- Connect the Printer:

- During the installation process, select “Wireless LAN Connection” when prompted.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
- Ensure your computer is connected to the same network as the printer.

- Download the macOS drivers and software.
- Open the installer package and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Connect the Printer:

- Ensure your Mac is connected to the same network as the printer.

- Install Canon PRINT App:
- Download the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app from the App Store.
- Connect the Printer:

- Ensure your iOS device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
- Open the Canon PRINT app.
- Tap on “Add Printer” and follow the on-screen instructions to detect and add your printer.

- Install Canon PRINT App:
- Download the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app from the Google Play Store.
- Connect the Printer:

- Ensure your Android device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
- Open the Canon PRINT app.
- Tap on “Add Printer” and follow the on-screen instructions to detect and add your printer.

- Connect the Printer:

- Ensure your Chromebook and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Click the status tray (bottom right corner) on your Chromebook.
- Select the gear icon to open Settings.
- Scroll down and click on “Advanced.”
- Under “Printing,” click on “Printers.”
- Click on “Add Printer.”
- Your Chromebook should detect the Canon MAXIFY GX4040. Select it and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
- Wireless Connection:
Troubleshooting Steps
- Printer not connecting to wi-fi:
- Possible Causes: Incorrect password, weak, signal or outdated firmware.
- Solutions:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct
- Place the printer close to the router
- Re-run Easy Wireless Connect
- Press Setup >Wi-Fi Setup >Easy Wireless Connect
- Restart the router and printer
- Check for firmware updates via Canon’s official website
- Print Not Detected by computer or mobile:
- Solutions:
- Ensure both printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network
- Restart your printer and device
- Reinstall the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (for mobile)
- For USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected
- On Windows/Mac, reinstall the printer driver
- Solutions:
- Paper Jam:

- Turn off the printer
- Gently remove jammed paper from the rear tray, output slot, or inside the printer
- Check for torn paper pieces
- Restart the printer
- Solutions:
- Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaks, Missing Colors):
- Solution:
- Check ink levels and replace cartridges if needed
- Run Print Head Cleaning:
- Press Setup >Maintenance>Cleaning
- Perform Print Head Alignment via the same menu
- Ensure you’re using compatible paper
