Overview

Canon GM4040 is a high yield 3-in-1 mono ink tank printer. It is perfect for homes or small offices that want to get work done quickly and well. Canon GM4040 comes with wireless connectivity and can print, scan, copy. It can yield up to 18,000 pages from 3 black ink bottles and a low cost per page from the refillable ink tank.

Unboxing & Initial Setup

  1. Take the printer out of the box.
  2. Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
  3. Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
  4. Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
  5. Install the toner cartridges.
  6. Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon GM4040 setup on Windows

Setting up Canon GM4040 on Windows with Wi-fi:

  1. Connect the Printer to wifi:
    • Select wifi Connection.
    • Enter the password.
    • Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
    • Connect Canon GM4040 to your Wi-Fi network.
  2. Download Drivers:
    • Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
    • When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Print the Test page:
    • Print a test page to confirm the setup.

Setting up Canon GM4040 on Windows with USB:

  1. Connect the Printer to Your PC:
    • Connect USB cable when prompted.
    • Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your PC.
  2. Download Drivers:
    • Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
    • When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Print the Test page:
    • Print a test page to confirm the setup.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check the power:
    • Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected.
  2. Check the cartridges:
    • Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also, ensure that there is enough ink.
  3. Check paper:
    • If the papers are not arranged correctly, take them out of the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure that the paper tray is not jammed. You can now shut off the paper tray.
  4. Check Wi-Fi Connection:
    • Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
    • Make sure that the WIFI connection is stable.
  5. Update the Driver:
    • Outdated drivers may cause problems.
    • Check for the latest driver updates for your printer model.
    • Download and install the updated driver.
