Overview
Canon GM4000 is a monochrome ink tank printer designed for homes, small businesses, and students. It is designed for high volume printing with low running costs. Canon GM4000 utilizes a refillable black ink tank system, offering high page yields and reduced cost per page. It is a cost saving printer. Canon GM4000 is compact and lightweight.

Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon GM4000 setup on Windows
Setting up Canon GM4000 on Windows with Wifi:
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon GM4000 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download Drivers:
- Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
- When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Setting up Canon GM4000 on Windows with USB:
- Connect the Printer to Your PC:
- Connect USB cable when prompted.
- Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your PC.
- Download Drivers:
- Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
- When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon GM4000 setup on macOS
Setting up Canon GM4000 on Mac with Wifi:
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon GM4000 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download Drivers:
- Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
- Select your macOS version from the dropdown (e.g., macOS Ventura, Monterey, etc.).
- When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Add Printer to Mac:
- Go to system settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click “+” to add a printer.
- The Mac will automatically detect the Canon GM4000.
- Select it and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Setting up Canon GM4000 on Mac with USB:
- Download Drivers:
a. Download and install the full driver package from the bottom of the page.
b. When the installation is completed, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions. - Connect the Printer to Your Mac:
a. Connect USB cable when prompted.
b. Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your Mac. - Add Printer to Mac:
a. Go to system settings > Printers & Scanners.
b. Click “+” to add a printer.
c. The Mac will automatically detect the Canon GM4000.
d. Select it and click Add. - Print the Test page:
a. Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon GM4000 setup on iPhone & iPad
Setting up Canon GM4000 on IOS with Wifi:
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
- Search for “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY”.
- Tap Download and install the app.
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon GM4000 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Add Printer:
- Click on the “+” icon (usually at the top or bottom of the screen) to add a printer.
- App will search for printers on your Wi-Fi network.
- Your device will automatically detect Canon GM4000.
- Select it and click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Setting up Canon GM4000 on IOS with Airprint:
You can also use AirPrint to print without downloading any app:
- Open an image, email, or document.
- Click on the share icon.
- Select Print.
- Select Canon GM4000 from the printer list.
- Click Print.
Canon GM4000 setup on Android
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon GM4000 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App:
- Open the Play Store on your Phone.
- Search for “Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY”.
- Tap Download and install the app.
- Connect Printer to Wi-Fi Using App:
- In the Canon PRINT app, click “Add Printer”.
- Select “Register Printer” > “Connect via Wireless Router”.
- App will automatically detect your printer.
- Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Canon GM4000 setup on Chromebook
Setting up Canon GM4000 on ChromeOS with Wifi:
- Connect the Printer to wifi:
- Select wifi Connection.
- Enter the password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi lamp blinks.
- Connect Canon GM4000 to your Wi-Fi network.
- Add Printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then Printers.
- Click the Add printer option to connect the Printer.
- Your Canon GM4000 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page:
- Print a test page to confirm the setup.
Setting up Canon GM4000 on ChromeOS with USB:
- Connect the Printer to Your Chromebook:
- Connect USB cable when prompted.
- Plug the USB cable into the printer and connect the other end to your Chromebook.
- Add Printer:
- Click the Settings icon.
- In the Settings menu, click on Advanced at the bottom.
- Click Printing and then Printers.
- Click the Add printer option to connect the Printer.
- Your Canon GM4000 should appear in the list if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click Add.
- Print the Test page:
