Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Remove packaging materials.
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Plug in the printer, and turn it on.
- Open the panel and install the cartridges.
- Load preferred paper into the tray.

Canon GM2010 setup on Windows
- Connect the printer to your Wi-Fi using the Easy Wireless Connect feature via the printer’s control panel.
- Download drivers and software package from the bottom of the page
- Launch the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to begin setup.
- Select Wireless Connection as your preferred setup method.
- The software will automatically detect your printer over the network and complete the installation.
- Once installation is finished, print a test page to verify functionality.
Canon GM2010 setup on macOS
- Use the printer’s control panel to activate Easy Wireless Connect and connect it to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download drivers and software package from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and follow the installation instructions.
- During setup, choose Wireless Connection and allow the software to search for the printer on your network.
- Once detected, complete the installation and add the printer to your System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the “+” icon, select Canon GM2010, and click Add.
- Your printer is now set up and ready for use with macOS.
Canon GM2010 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Connect the printer to Wi-Fi using the Easy Wireless Connect function via the printer’s control panel.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the App Store and download the Canon Print app
- Launch the app and grant the necessary permissions for Wi-Fi, location, and notifications.
- Tap Add Printer or the “+” icon, then choose Register Printer.
- The app will automatically search for available printers on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Select Canon GM2010 when it appears in the list.
- If it does not appear, follow the app’s manual setup instructions, entering the printer’s IP address if needed.
- Once connected, the printer is saved in the app for future use.
- You can also print directly using Apple AirPrint from supported apps by selecting Print > Canon GM2010.
Canon GM2010 setup on Android
- Connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using the Easy Wireless Connect option on the printer’s control panel.
- On your Android device, open the Google Play Store and install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app.
- Launch the app and grant necessary permissions for Wi-Fi, storage, and location access.
- Tap Add Printer or the “+” icon, then select Register Printer.
- The app will search for printers connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Select Canon GM2010 from the list when it appears.
- If not found, follow the app’s manual setup instructions, using the printer’s IP address if necessary.
- Once connected, the printer will be saved for future use within the app.
- You can now print documents, web pages, and photos directly from your Android phone or tablet.
Canon GM2010 setup on Chromebook
- Connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using the Easy Wireless Connect feature on the printer’s control panel.
- On your Chromebook, click the time in the lower-right corner and open Settings.
- Scroll down and select Advanced, then go to Printing > Printers.
- Your Chromebook will automatically search for printers on the same Wi-Fi network.
- If Canon GM2010 appears in the list, click Add to complete setup.
- If it doesn’t appear, click Add Printer manually.
- Enter a name (e.g., “Canon GM2010”), and input the printer’s IP address (available from the printer’s network settings).
- Use IPP as the protocol and set the path as /ipp/print.
- Select Generic Inkjet or a Canon driver if available, then click Add.
- Once added, your GM2010 is ready for wireless printing from your Chromebook.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also make sure that there is enough ink and that the cartridges fit the model of your printer
- Check paper
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure there are no jams in the printer. You can now shut off the paper tray.
- Check Wi-Fi connection
- Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi is stable
- Reset the printer
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers
- If the drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
