- Unbox the printer.
- Remove the packing materials.
- Remove the protective tape.
- Plug it in, turn it on, and install the ink bottles and paper.

Canon G7090 setup on Windows
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Launch the setup file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Select USB, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet. For Wi-Fi, use the printer’s display to connect to your network.
- The setup tool will detect the printer and finish installation.
- Confirm setup by printing a test page.
Canon G7090 setup on macOS
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Locate and run the downloaded .dmg file, then follow the on-screen instructions to start setup.
- Select your preferred method—Wi-Fi, USB, or Ethernet.
- For Wi-Fi, use the printer’s control panel to connect to your network.
- When prompted, allow necessary permissions and enter your Mac’s password to complete installation.
- Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners, click the “+” button, and select the Canon G7090 from the list.
- Print a test page to ensure proper installation and connectivity.
Canon G7090 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Use the printer’s control panel to connect it to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone or iPad.
- Download the Canon Print app from the App Store.
- Launch the app and follow the on-screen instructions to detect and connect to your printer.
- Allow the app to access photos and documents if you want to print from your iOS device.
- Select content from your device or cloud storage, adjust print settings, and tap print.
- Use AirPrint: Alternatively, use AirPrint directly from apps like Safari, Mail, or Photos by tapping the Share icon and selecting Print.
Canon G7090 setup on Android
- Ensure the Canon G7090 is powered on and connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download and install the Canon Print app from Google Play.
- Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your Android device to the printer.
- Choose the document or photo you wish to print from your device.
- Customise print settings such as paper size, color options, and number of copies as needed.
- Tap the print icon to start printing.
Canon G7090 setup on Chromebook
- Plug in the Canon G7090, power it on, and ensure it’s loaded with ink and paper.
- Use the printer’s control panel to connect to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromebook.
- On your Chromebook, click the time in the bottom-right corner, then go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- Your Canon G7090 should appear automatically if it’s on the same network.
- Select it and click Add.
- Leave settings as default unless specific changes are needed, then confirm to finish setup.
- Open a document or webpage and select Print to test the connection.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check WiFi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the WiFi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers:
- If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
