Unboxing & Initial Setup
- Take the printer out of the box.
- Take out all the accessories and remove the packaging.
- Remove and discard the protective tape from outside and inside.
- Connect the power cord to turn the printer on.
- Install the toner cartridges.
- Load paper into the paper trays.

Canon G7065 setup on Windows
- Ensure the Canon G7065 is turned on and ready.
- Connect via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or USB as preferred.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen installation instructions.
- Select Wi-Fi, USB, or Ethernet during setup.
- Let the setup tool detect the printer automatically.
- Input your network password or use WPS to connect wirelessly.
- Follow prompts to finish setup and install additional software (e.g., scanning utility).
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers to manage preferences.
- Right-click the printer and set it as default if needed.
- Confirm the installation by printing a test page.
Canon G7065 setup on macOS
- Make sure the Canon G7065 is powered on and ready.
- Connect the printer to your Wi-Fi or via Ethernet cable.
- Download drivers from the bottom of the page
- Launch the downloaded .dmg file and follow the installation instructions.
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners, click the “+” icon to add a new printer.
- Choose the Canon G7065 from the list of available devices.
- Ensure the correct Canon driver (not AirPrint) is selected for full functionality.
- Complete any remaining steps in the installation wizard.
- Print a test page to confirm the printer is working.
- Add Canon’s scan utility if scanning is needed.
Canon G7065 setup on iPhone & iPad
- Ensure the Canon G7065 is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone or iPad.
- Install the Canon Print app app from the App Store.
- Launch the app and grant any necessary permissions (e.g., access to network, photos).
- The app will automatically search for printers on the same network. Select the Canon G7065 when it appears.
- If the printer isn’t detected, tap Register Printer, and enter the printer’s IP address.
- Select a document, photo, or file from your iOS device or cloud storage.
- Set paper size, colour, and other preferences.
- Tap Print to send the print job to the Canon G7065.
- Print a test page to confirm the printer is set up correctly.
Canon G7065 setup on Android
- Ensure the Canon G7065 is connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- Install Canon Print app from the Google Play Store.
- Launch the app and grant necessary permissions (e.g., access to files, network).
- The app will search for available printers on the network. Select the Canon G7065 when it appears.
- Manual Setup (if needed): If the printer isn’t detected, tap Register Printer > Printer not listed? and enter the printer’s IP address.
- Choose a document, photo, or webpage from your device or cloud storage.
- Set preferences like paper size, colour, and number of copies.
- Tap Print to send the job to the printer.
- Verify the setup by printing a test page.
Canon G7065 setup on Chromebook
- Ensure the Canon G7065 is turned on and connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- Click the time in the lower-right corner, then select Settings.
- Scroll down to Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- If the G7065 appears under Available Printers, click Add to install it.
- Add Manually (if needed): If not listed, click Add Printer and enter the printer name and IP address.
- Choose IPP as the protocol and use ipp/print as the path.
- Choose Canon, or select Generic PostScript Printer (PS) if Canon G7065 isn’t listed.
- Click Add to complete the setup.
- Make it your default printer in Settings.
- Print a document to confirm successful installation.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the power:
- Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected
- Check the cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. There should be enough ink and cartridges should be compatible with the model of the printer
- Check paper:
- If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. There should be no jams in the printer
- Check WiFi connection:
- Ensure your printer and device are connected to the same network
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi connection is stable
- Reset the printer:
- Resetting the printer can resolve many issues
- Update printer drivers:
- If drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
